Raz, care to write up something about whats going on with United? Or any United fan really.
10-16-2010 , 05:05 PM
i think we should have deezy and raz do writeups
10-16-2010 , 05:06 PM

I know everyone hates my opinion on diving, but just chiming in to say Chamakh's dive today was A+. You're almost always going to get that call because from the referee's point of view live it's nearly impossible to tell. Perfect execution of the dive to turn a non-opportunity into a penalty.

I know everyone here hates diving and I can perfectly understand why, but Chamakh was smart enough to help his team win today and it's hard to find fault with that.

plus its kind of lame the dive is being talked about more than the super sexy second goal.

Yes, we should be praising Arsenal wherever possible and glossing over any cheating.

i'm all for anything to win, but still cannot praise anyone diving because it is the pussy way.

Stak- add me to the "hates my opinion on diving" list.

I guess we can add you to the "on my period today" list.

So, to be clear: Wenger should sell Cesc as he is sort of morally bound to do it, but Arsenal's latest boy band reject is not morally bound not to cheat? Awesome.

Do that whilst weeping that we aren't talking about your second goal but more about you cheating. Not sure why you are bothered though as the victory is all that counts.

LOL Stak.

You are Bill O'Reilly of this thread apparently.

Lol yeah the Cesc thing was admittedly stupid of me, you can't rationally really blame AW for not selling (although I do believe Cesc only signed the extension because he thought he'd be allowed to leave when he requested it). It's been well documented that my hatred for Arsene Wenger knows no bounds, and it's pretty hard for me to not criticize him at every opportunity.

The diving thing is just something that as a practical matter I can't criticize too harshly (although I see why people do).

I mean, they pay you crazy money to try to win games, there's enormous pressure on players to perform, financial pressure, pressure from media, coaches, supporters etc. The results of each game can mean huge sums of money swing back and forth both for the players and the clubs. And against this backdrop I can't really fault players for doing pretty much anything they can to win.

I've personally taken dives/simulated/tried to get players sent off (and succeeded) in games that I've played, because I really really really wanted to win. And that was without the crazy financial pressure these players are under.

have to agree with the hoopster here. yeah from his point of view, diving gives your team a chance to get a cheap goal. fine. that doesn't mean that it is ethical or that people shouldn't be pissed about it. its against the rules whether it is seen or not. getting away with murder doesn't make you awesome, it makes you a ****ing murderer.

if it weren't for the dive we would be talking about how you didn't win the game.

the point is you probably shouldn't complain that people are talking about it, thats a lot better than him getting booked for diving and you getting a draw.
10-16-2010 , 06:05 PM
In before clark says you're being meanies to eachother.

In other news Fulhams goal was via handball so gtfo complaining.

Hop I imagine you've been to Craven Cottage, where's the away section?
Looked like we had the entire section behind the goal. Surely they don't allocate that much?

OT/ the facebook movie is meant to be good.

nice trick from Chamakh on the dive, but the ref should be much better there.

wow 2nd Arsenal goal, nice and direct like you are supposed to be.

oh, Jack Shawcross Wilshire deserved his red, and i wonder will Wenger condemn him in tomorrows papers?
10-16-2010 , 06:15 PM
Badders - you should get the whole end behind the goal. It is pretty good.

Stak - football, the beautiful game, eh?
