More among younger generation.

I was brought up close to Tranmere Rovers ground, but also close to Liverpool/Everton. Most of my schoolmates supported Tranmere and occasionally we went to prenton park, but also supported one of the big two teams.

I ended up with Wigan somehow

It's different I'm assuming because there are so many more "local" clubs that are varying degrees of size.

Instead of here where your "local" club is 90 minutes away but in the same state, or the neighboring one if you're from a LOL_state. Much different structure.

Kev - nor do I, but it almost certainly has happened. The chances are that, irrespective of the sport, if you switch team allegiances, you probably weren't a fan in the first place.

You do hear of people moving away from their club and starting to follow their local non-league side or whatever, which I totally understand and is probably a bit different.
06-21-2010 , 06:36 AM
Oh god what have i started

OK the worst poaster in the thread, consistently may i add thinks i'm dumb yep i can live with that.

Grow up ffs

I'm done carry on

Just calling a spade a spade btw

Yeah im pretty sure it has happened but I would say it is a very rare occurrence.

Just on the American sports I can understand switching teams in past because iirc there wasnt as much National coverage of every team in every sport. Now you can watch nearly every team anywhere in the country which makes it easier to follow your team even if you are on the other side of the country. Would I be right in saying that?

Yea what have you started by just coming out of nowhere with the single worst insult you can level at a fan, ooh wonder how that could have started something. Are you really that dense?

You stop with all the woah is me martyr BS, you randomly attack people expect a reaction. I am being leveled or you really are denser than a singularity.

I sincerely apologies for insulting you in the worse way ever but as i have already stated i made a genuine mistake.

I thought i read it on here somewhere and that it was common knowledge maybe i dream about you or something maybe it's the early onset of alzheimers either way i have apologised twice now.

Please accept it or put me on ignore or whatever... last post from me on the subject...

Btw me saying "Oh god what have i started" is not me being a martyr it's just that i realised that you are childish OAFK and are probably the one poster ITT who will make a huge deal over something like this

Having put you on ignore I cant read what ever spack handed invective you filled your last post with. Its probably best for the thread that I dont read any more of your aggressive and unbalanced insults.

Spoiler:
Apology 100% accepted

I found Everton due to exposure from Landy Cakes and Howard. And while I will obviously be interested in wherever Landon winds up, I'm sticking with Everton.

yeah its pretty easy to follow whatever team you want with expanded cable packages. Much easier than following even a random EPL team (here at least).

in 442s celeb thingy that they do every month, one robert plant bounced around a bunch of teams for a good while until he stuck on wolves in the early 80s. There have been a few other people that have done the sing when you're winning section that have switched allegiances several times.

In one of the more odd switchings I came across, a wine merchant that I know has gone between arse and spurs on a few occasions. He's in his late 50s, and though he's primarily been a spurs supporter, he did go to arse for a bit a while back which left my friend and I a bit confused

OAFK11, simmer down. he made a mistake and apologized for it. He wasn't being mean spirited, he was just wrong as a matter of fact.
