A transfer to a side where you won't get a game is the best thing for a young player?

he is a leeds supporter, so common sense isn't going to be his strong suit

Argh.

Note for all: practice non-flagging, it helps so much. I now see everything quicker and waste far fewer clicks than before.

maybe his family is poor, so money would be the best thing for him? otherwise...

Really? I thought it was common knowledge that he likes the party lifestyle. I dont know how bad it is but it was reported a few times last season that he was out drinking when he shouldnt have been

knew about the partying, haven't heard much more then that. I mean really, who doesn't expect an 18 year old to party it up, if anything, I might be a bit more concerned if he was just focused on training at the age of 17/18

He'd still get a decent amount of games at those sides. Playing every week isn't necessarily the best thing for a young CB. Especially in a **** side.

It doesn't seem to be doing him any harm at Blackburn. I've seen too many players join big clubs and sit on the bench whilst their career goes nowhere. Most young players are probably better off getting experience at one of the weaker sides if they aren't good enough to be getting regular games in a stronger side IMO.

Lol yeah I guess thats true. Although Messi wouldnt agree but he is a freak!!

Yeah I agree, but playing in a struggling side, which I think they probably will be, is hard for young players. At least CBs tend to mature a little later I suppose.

Very much so. Its not as if the younger player will go to a 'weaker' club and be by far the best player or anything. In fact normally they aren't even so for their own personal development they should be playiung first team football by that age regularly. This benefits the parent club massively also if they can afford to have them out of the squad.

A young CB playing for a struggling side is best case scenario.

exactly, where else are they going to learn positioning and get the right decision making. They'll be forced into situations that they aren't familiar with and situations that can't be replicated on the training pitch.

Yeah, you could argue that a specific attacking player (the clinical forward, a pure #10) could struggle to develop playing for a weak side but for CBs (or GKs, DMs) it seems optimal to me...

Plus the fans always get behind a young guy who has come through the youth setup.

Just can't decide this year on my scores.

Have to do it on the Friday night or Saturday morning so I don't keep changing it.

yeah there are definitely a lot of interesting match ups for week 1. it seems as if the only clubs with guaranteed 3 points are Chelsea, Man Utd, and Man City.
