That was nasty.

Given some of the stuff he's let go I'm surprised that wasn't just a yellow
05-18-2011 , 05:19 PM
Yeah, he didn't seem too interested in a couple of elbows there.

Been a mini classic this. Love the playoffs.

League one playoff >>>>> Europa League final

2 cracking headers in ET.

Indeed. The play off final defeat against Palace sucked, and the win against Preston was just sheer terror, but the two second legs of the semis were two of my favourite West Ham games ever.

Could do. It is looking fairly likely that he walks/gets pushed over the Summer. Not sure how I feel about him leaving. Since he took over, we always seem to fall at the last hurdle, he never gets it right when the pressure is on and there have been certain tactical weaknesses that have been the same in our squad for years. On the other hand, he has put up with all the mess that is our financial situation, has coped with our best players being sold most years to keep the club afloat and has still kept us there or there abouts. This is the first season that we have really had a squad that was expected to get promotion.

His transfer record on a tiny budget is very good but there are a lot of holes in his tactical and motivational abilities. Think he'd be great in a director of football role. I also think that if he leaves we weill struggle to attract other decent managers.

Will also be interesting to see what our squad looks like next year. Lots of our best players are here on loan and I expect Bothroyd to leave on a free so there is going to be a lot of rebuilding necessary. Might have missed our chance.

Man Utd POY awards. Hernandez got POY, Nani won the player's POY award.

Valencia looks like some kind of hitman.

Imogen won't be happy Ryan.

Euston>Stock or piccadilly. Dont know yet. 70 pounds which is absolutely ridiculous.

apparently Carlton Cole has a clause in his contract that his salary drops by 50% if we are in the Championship so that'll help if he isn't sold.
05-18-2011 , 07:17 PM
I always thought every contract had that sort of clause in it if relegated.

Wow i'm glad I recorded Huddersfield-Bournemouth, what a game!

Two great headers from Ings and Kay, a night for headers after Falcao done his thing in the Europa and a great goal apiece from Ward and Lovell.

The playoffs show yet again that there should be no such thing as away goals rule, it's not a coincidence that they're some of the most exciting games you will see all season year after year.

Huddersfield-Peterborough would be an incredible final at Old Trafford.

Were those Lee Clark's daughters at the end? He was absolutely man-handling the blonde lol.

With Hoopie being so passionate about constantly calling Pulis a nonce it would be quite ironic if Dave Jones got the West Ham job

No point in predicting C'ship or any team to come back up. Apart from an anomaly like Newcastle its never predictable, not even close. Teams predicted to get play off spots can go down and vice versa.

Some recent evidence to emphasize: Ipswich and Middlesborough were favourites for C'ship this year. Blackpool were 2nd or 3rd favs to get relegated last year.

If offered evens on whether West Ham come back up next season I'd snappity snap snap.

Play off was sick tonight. Fantastic intensity, absolutely comical defending, excitement, drama, penalty shootout, Zinedine ****ing Kilbane! lol

Looking at those predictions, I can get top 7 completely right on last day as can mw I think! As for relegation, not such good predictions but lets face it gap between 8th-20th is less than gap between 8th to top 4 so a lot more difficult.

can't blame you for not wanting to travel to that ****hole known as portsmouth. Has there been a time when all 4 of the south coast teams have been in the same division if bournemouth go up?

Jones doesn't wear a cap, which is strong evidence that he is not guilty.

Not in my lifetime, I don't think. Shame they never made it.

I'm in Portsmouth right now FWIW.

When there's thousands of students running the place its a nice City. When they leave it really becomes a ****hole (sans Gunwharf)and the nightlife tanks.

As for table predictions, IIRC.

Top 7
Chels
MU
Ars
City
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FOOTBALL CLUB
Pool
Villa/ Toffee's

Relegation
Wigan/ WBA
Wolves
Blackpool

Also had wH mid table. Will probably lay WH promotion if they're 2/1 on Betfair.

Tonight's playoff game should be a cracker.

It would be quite something for Darren Ferguson to take Peterborough to Old Trafford for a playoff final, I fancy them strongly tonight, too much firepower.

Chelsea POTY awards are live on Chelsea TV tonight as well, looking forward to it, normally you get some good live interviews in a more relaxed environment which sometimes leads to some insight to summer happenings which you otherwise wouldn't get.

If you are sitting around watching this on Chelsea TV I'd recommend getting out more. Besides, I bet it isn't half as exciting as ours. :P

Skysports.com understands that some of Europe's top sides are hoping to persuade Nigel Reo-Coker to quit England.

Reo-Coker has been linked with both Spain and Italy, but now it is understood clubs are stepping up their interest in the Aston Villa midfielder.

The 26-year-old is available on a Bosman transfer and that is proving a huge attraction.

It is understood that, from Italy, both AC Milan and Napoli are keen, whilst in Spain he is wanted by Valencia.

But the interest is wide-ranging as German champions Borussia Dortmund are also on his trail whilst Turkish giants Fenerbahce are ready to make a move too.

His agent Tony Finnigan confirmed to skysports.com that the interest was growing all the time.

"The interest from abroad is huge in Nigel, a team from just about every major league is looking at him," he told skysports.com.

"Milan, Dortmund, Napoli, Valencia, Fenerbahce - they are all looking at him."

Reo-Coker is also attracting the attention of a string of Premier League clubs - but they cannot officially make a move for him until the end of the season.

.
All that interest in Nigel Mediocre?
05-19-2011 , 10:19 AM
Langer - unless all of those clubs need someone to make the tea, I would suggest that Mr Finnigan may not be telling the whole truth. Unless the quality of football has deteriorated in Spain and Italy to the point where being able to pass a football five yards to one of your team mates is less important than being able to run and shout for 90 minutes and have ideas way above your station.
