When does the individual inferiority start to become more than a form issue for you langer?
04-15-2011 , 11:22 AM
Chelsea have a lot of players at that age where it may not be in a dip in form

Honest question, when was the last night Lampard put in a good 90 minutes?
04-15-2011 , 11:24 AM
RaZ, Are you stupid? Chelsea are the best team in the league.

I think I've said it before but this is going to be my worry when Fergie finally kicks the bucket. New manager comes in and does well in his first year then goes off the boil the next which leads to fans calling for a new manager.

Edit - You're maybe seeing this with both Carlo and Harry.

I'm not saying it's due to form.

I'm putting it down to a combination of tactical errors (some major) and the manager not getting the best out of the resources available to him.

Only once or twice this season, injuries have played a part but again when he has been fit it's been a combination of him not being used to recovering from injuries and the manager playing a formation which doesn't suit him. Lampard can't play in a 4-4-2, not for Chelsea and not for England.

I think saying Lampard can't play in a 4-4-2 is oversimplifying things.

Not really the same thing, replacing Ferguson is going to be something unique.

Having stability would be ideal at any club, but i'm not going to advocate stability just for the sake of it, stability should only be advocated if you believe what you have in place is what is required.

Not sure how Carlo and Harry could be bracketed together, Carlo is under-achieving and Harry is over-achieving.
04-15-2011 , 11:49 AM
I know it will be unique but that doesn't make it any less annoying listening to ******ed fans jumping on every little mistake he might make. I expect us to have a little dip when Fergie retires, I think its inevitable tbh.

I wasn't putting Harry and Carlo in the same bracket, I was merely talking about the fans of both clubs.

Btw, I don't know what others think but I've always got the impression that Chelsea fans haven't really got over Jose leaving. Its like they are searching for a clone of him or something.

my biggest problem with carlo is that he has no idea to inject youth into this side, or just doesnt have the balls to do it. even today, with the season essentially over, when asked in the presser if the kids will begin to play, he says "no, we need players with experience and personality."

how many times in the past month when asked about his chelsea future, he basically responds "i do not care if i get sacked or not, i have a contract, roman pay me 6m to piss off". how about you ****ing care until the minute you are sacked.

carlo the magnificent, who got 5 extra years out of all the old boys at milan, who won the big cup twice, apparently can only get one extra year out of our 30+ crowd, and has sent us home early in back to back seasons in the ucl.

carlo is probably the man for the job if he's going to get 200m to replace the 8 or 9 guys that are going to need replacing over the next 2 seasons, because its obviously not going to come from the 50m roman has spent on the academy over the past 5 or so years.

if we end up sacking him, it better be on may 23 and the new manager installed by the end of that week, and not **** around half the summer to make a move.

re the RB situation: what was the deal with ferreira? he looked good actually against united. he actually showed a lot of skill going forward. he usually looks like a piece of driftwood.

about CA and his use of youth players: i think it is too early to just be throwing in completely inexperienced and almost certainly worse players. yes, you can't win the title, but if you look at that table thingy with the points and whatnot, you are only 5 pts ahead of 5th. if the gap opens up i would definitely try to get them some time, even though almost all of them are out on loan anyway. mceachran at least i suppose.

about bale defensively: don't know where this zero defensive ability bs comes from. he was a lb originally for a reason. don't think he is terrific, but he isn't bad. at LM he tracks back a good bit still, don't know why you would think he contributes nothing. i saw him run 50 yds back on the full sprint to nick the ball against RM just the other day.
04-15-2011 , 12:51 PM
RA should sack him now (if he is planning too in the summer anyway) and get in the dugout for the remaining league games.
04-15-2011 , 12:56 PM
Right then.

Who's going to come up from the Championship? And who do you want up?

I don't really have a clue who's coming up (other than QPR who look to be a lock) as I don't follow it at all, but here's the top 8 listed from who I'd least like to most like:

8. Milwall

Trust I don't need to explain this.

7. Swansea
6. Cardiff

I just don't want Welsh teams in the EPL. Not sure why. Basically because of their rivalry with each other that nobody else really cares about I think. I'd rather have Celtic or Rangers in the league.

5. Leeds

Bit torn about this. It'd be kind of fun if teams who were in League 1 last season vaulted into the EPL next season, but Leeds fans are by and large a bunch of ****houses. There were a couple of them in a sports bar in Adelaide loudly and obnoxiously singing "Super Leeds" et al when Leeds weren't even playing and people were trying to watch other stuff.

4. Reading
3. QPR

Just don't really care either way.

2. Norwich

As mentioned, it would be kind of cool if a team bounced from League 1 right up to the EPL in two seasons, plus Stephen Fry is their director. What's not to like?

1. Nottingham Forest

Founding members of the FA and back to back European Cup winners. They deserve a chance to be great again.
04-15-2011 , 01:17 PM
rangers, forrest, someone that isn't leads. probably norwich or reading. pretty much in agreement i guess.
04-15-2011 , 01:20 PM
Reading is such a horrible away trip (not in a nasty way, just a terrible out of town ground with no atmosphere and drums being played over the tannoy and a really crap town centre that you can't get a drink in on football days). Forest, Norwich and QPR please.
04-15-2011 , 01:23 PM
It should be a good game tonight, followed by a pretty good set of fixtures in the Championship tomorrow.
04-15-2011 , 01:37 PM
I'd like Leeds back in the premiership, reunite a rivalry.

A few of my good mates are Leeds fans and we have brilliant banter with year other. Plus if they start getting a couple of cracking players we might get another King Eric. :P

with QPR all but promoted already i'd like to see Cardiff and Forest join them.

Why do Forest deserve a chance to be great again but Leeds don't?

I want Leeds back up. None of these small clubs that add nothing to the league like Reading. Big rivalries are great for the league as a whole and i don't feel enough hatred for Leeds to rather see them languish.

Norwich, whats not to like?

Spoiler:

Notts Forrest, Leeds and QPR for me. Don't mind either of the Welsh teams either. No idea why people have a problem with it tbh they have been in the English system since before everyone here's gradnparents were born most likely.

BTW everyone saying QPR are a lock, the pending FA decision could be a slap on the wrist type fine or could be much worse. So I would not pencil them into the Premier League just yet.
04-15-2011 , 02:50 PM
would like to see qpr, norwich and reading/forest up, mainly because the welsh teams should **** off to their own country and leeds scum are leeds scum.
04-15-2011 , 03:04 PM
decent game, forest goal was all kinds of LOL
04-15-2011 , 03:07 PM
Helter Skelter start here. Comedy 1st goal, always kick it into the stands in that situation, especially on your weaker side.

Or you know...just pick it up. lol. (Don't remember it being a backpass or anything)
04-15-2011 , 03:13 PM
think he was outside his box anyway, but pretty sure it was a backpass
04-15-2011 , 03:13 PM
Oh ****, didn't even think about that. LOL.

I don't think it was a backpass 64, was a long ball down the channel iirc
04-15-2011 , 03:16 PM
i wasn't paying too much attention to who sent it through, but old man watching the game is sure it was a backpass. will check at halftime obv
