Did'nt understand the giggs sub at all.

Smalling played really well again.
It's going to sound like i'm needling but i'm not.

The reason all the play was down the left is because more often than not Nani and before him Ronaldo have gotten very little change out of Ashley.

Plus I think it made perfect sense for that to be the case last night as that was the side we were going to be more exploitable because of Ramires' tendancy to drift inwards.

Valencia tore Ashley a new one in teh CS

you do remember we were missing two wide players (Valencia and Park), and had an unfit Giggs?
03-02-2011 , 11:15 AM
no Langer, the reason for most the attack going down the UTD left flank last night was Ramires not tracking back well enough to help Iva.

or as you said he drifted into the middle.

Phil Dowd is in charge at Anfield. God help us all. The sooner Mark Halsey gets the big games the better.

He wasn't particularly good on Sunday.

Well everyone is going to have an off day one way or another but he has fewer than most. However the big thing is that he can communicate with the players and use common sense which the majority of the PL refs fail to do.

Did Uist really just reference the Community Shield?

I genuinely think communicating with the players is massively over-rated. The players are a set of complete ****ing morons, and need to simply accept decisions and get on with it. It isn't the ref's responsibility to maintain a dialogue throughout the game with them, and they'll only complain and get in his face about it. As for using common sense, I'd settle for applying the rules correctly.

yes

but seriously, lol @ your over analysis of the situation when the truth is we had only one fit first-team winger, and the only combination we could really go with was Fletcher on the right and Nani on the left

Grunching thoughts on the game:

Tight fairly even first half, shaded by us. We were controlling the vital areas of the park.

Second half, completely dismal performance by us. Capitulation. Fergie didn't change the things that needed to be changed and our big players bottled it.

I am sure I have missed all the United fans saying "Ref is ****" and the reply "LOL United fans, taste your own medicine" despite that being irrelevant. it still bears repeating though. The ref was atrocious. Chelsea have beaten us 3 on the spin in the league now with large helpings from referees. But when its them its deserved, or justice. When its United we are luckboxing and running hot to the title. Jealous comments guys.

O'Shea. Fergie I thought you had learned? Bring back Rafael ASAP.
Fletcher. Stop playing him in roles he doesn't suit. We all saw how **** he was at the start of his United career. He is not a utility man.
Carrick. Start playing well again.
Scholes. Don't retire.
Smalling. Future Rio.
Valencia. Come back.
Park. You too.
David Luiz. How many needless and ridiculous fouls do you want to get away with? Far from being good in this match he was a complete liability with occassional flashes of quality.
Chelsea. **** you.

it's not just vs Chelsea, in general we lack width when OS plays in right back.

Where as the complaining about the ref has been absolutely fascinating (not to mention at a level which would have made the Arsenal fans blush).

if it wasn't for the refs, they'd win every time!

I think now the dust has settled, fans are more annoyed with the way we set up 2nd half. I still can't believe it.

United have played dozens and dozens of big games with Nani on the right and Rooney on the left.

like when? the fact that we went Rooney up front rather than on the left is more a reflection of Rooney being **** on the left than OMG ASHLEY COLE

I feel the same with regards to our first half, can't believe we went in 4-4-2.

It was a mistake imo and one that will cost us against the better sides eventually if it is repeated.
03-02-2011 , 12:30 PM
Funny because its true? I am not claiming United deserved to win them or anything, in fact we clearly didn't deserve to win any of those 3 games. But can even the staunchest Chelsea bluenose deny that in all 3 games ref favoured Chelsea?

If you need me to tell you whan then you need to watch your side more.

I would bet Rooney has easily played 30+ games for United on the left. Two seasons ago he played there almost exclusively.

-------

Yeah Raz I can deny it because I do not believe it to be true.
03-02-2011 , 12:35 PM
I don't believe you don't believe. Sorry.

G T F O

that was an entirely different team with an entirely different set of players. Rooney on the left with the current crop is horrible. we play a whole different way these days.
