They have spent 200m this summer and a billion over the last like 8 years. What are you on about.

Long may United fans continue to press for more spending while ignoring the structural faults that condemn them to perpetual underperformance.

a billion starting more or less from the shite that fergie bequeathed to his unfortunate descendants is **** all

chelsea spent nearly half a billion over three years back when 30 million got you a world class player, and 50 million got you zidane

city spent three quarters of a billion in about four years back when 50 million got you a world class player and 80 million got you ronaldo, and heaps more every year thereafter

Oh….we are well aware of the fact that the Glazers employed a cadre of useful idiots for a long time that led to this situation. They’ve never used a dime of their own money on the club and have taken money out while letting all sorts of other things fall apart and rot. Old Trafford leaking anyone?

Madrid play the transfer game the way Magnus Carlson plays chess. Did they expect this kind of drop off? Maybe not. But they certainly were done with him and knew he was close to a spent force. They brought in two extremely talented young DMs while still having Casemiro and Kroos on the books. They don’t bring in both if they weren’t done with Casemiro.

And again, they knew that Murtaugh+Arnold would likely be dumb enough to spend gobshite amounts on him given that they had recently sold a crocked Varane to United with those two running the helm.

He’s always been somewhat injury prone and I’m not sure Real wanted to sell him as much as they got £40m for a 28(29?) year old defender.

With United he seemed to just always be injured lol.

It’s just typical Man U overspending. Same with Casemiro. I’m not convinced Real wanted him gone or saw a decline coming but how can you say no to £60m for a 29 year old CDM. It’s just such a no brainer. Especially when you got 2 huge talents in that position.

I think we’re saying the same thing honestly. I don’t think they saw a drop off coming but £60m for a 29 year old CDM. Yeah take him.

He’s permacrocked at this point. He was playing 30+ matches consistently for Madrid. Comes to United for £50m (which again, should’ve been a warning signal) and doesn’t play over 25 EPL matches in a season before going to Como and having a knee injury right away.

Just remember. It could always be worse. You could’ve bought Antony for £86m or what ever it was.

……./sigh. I don’t know what will happen with Ten Hag, but I am at least confident that the INEOS crew is competent (or at least way more competent) compared to tweedle Dee and tweedle dum. It’s still gonna take several years before United will challenge for a title (if it goes 90% right)

Out before Christmas. That cup win saved him last season.

Given the disaster that was Rangnick (though this seems to be a *very* different locker room sans Pogba, Jlingz, and Sancho), I think whatever move will be made if he is to go will happen later in the year.

That's irelevant.

The fact is they are 14th in the league and a single player wouldn't get in City's side.

If you pay a builder to fix the roof and he does a bad job it doesn't matter, you have to get your cheque book out again and you to pay another roofer until the roof is fixed.

Radcliffe needs to spend 5 billion on 15 new players, money for the hole in the roof and a raise for the dinner ladies.

Seems very optimistic. They got Southampton, Palace and Tottenham as their next 3 league games. If he loses 2/3 I think he’s out.

The fact is spending money doesn’t fix the mess that is Manchester United. The last 8 year should tell you that.

They spent it poorly is really the issue though isn't it.

You really need a manager who can identify a great player.

Every signing United made has been bad. The only decent player they signed since Fergie left was Ibrahimovic and ironically they got him on a free.

Mate I was literally just responding to you when you said "Jim Ratcliffe is too tight. You need an idiot with a cheque book to win the premier league".

He *is* an idiot with a cheque book. He's already demonstrating it.

The year is 2050. Over 90% of the Earth is covered by water, there is a global bitcoin shortage, Trent Alexander-Arnold is Liverpool Manager and people are still arguing whether or not Declan Rice should have been sent off against Brighton.
