chelsea spent nearly half a billion over three years back when 30 million got you a world class player, and 50 million got you zidane

city spent three quarters of a billion in about four years back when 50 million got you a world class player and 80 million got you ronaldo, and heaps more every year thereafter

He’s permacrocked at this point. He was playing 30+ matches consistently for Madrid. Comes to United for £50m (which again, should’ve been a warning signal) and doesn’t play over 25 EPL matches in a season before going to Como and having a knee injury right away.

That's irelevant.

The fact is they are 14th in the league and a single player wouldn't get in City's side.

If you pay a builder to fix the roof and he does a bad job it doesn't matter, you have to get your cheque book out again and you to pay another roofer until the roof is fixed.

They spent it poorly is really the issue though isn't it.

You really need a manager who can identify a great player.

Every signing United made has been bad. The only decent player they signed since Fergie left was Ibrahimovic and ironically they got him on a free.
