No better example of this than Thomas Partey.
Ya I dont particularly like partey staying at the club, and I find myself at odds with enjoying on field success when hes playing. In the very very best scenario for him he just might be a huge *******, and the worst he'd be a serial rapist. Unfortunately even if no charges are brought it doesn't mean something bad didn't happen, but we will likely never have all the information to properly make an assessment for ourselves.
I think in general rich/famous/powerful people get away with way too much in the realm of sexual harassment, and sexual assault. Victims rarely get the closure and justice they deserve. I've also seen what the other side looks like, and although it's significantly rarer it does exist. If you even so much as suggest that there can be false claims, you get accused of marginalizing the victims of actual sexual assault. Frankly they aren't really wrong either because unfortunately you have so many idiots who just bang the drum that someone's innocent if they don't get punished by the law that they drown out the space to be able to have a careful, thoughtful, and nuanced conversation about the other side of the coin.
Like I feel gross for even bringing up false accusation claims, because so many women who have actually experienced sexual assault immediately get accused of making it up.
