Yeah this is what I thought as well…him just pushing up far, getting in Bruno’s preferred space and leaving poor Casemiro all by himself on an island.

Garnacho I can see…he’s got electric ability but he’s just young and understandably doesn’t always know what to do or when to do it.

That was so great.

But to be fair to the guy - he paid the same day Mitke scored his 5th? goal of the season. Which was like the 4th game. And only then disappeared from the thread.

Langer would be one of the most fit posters here with all of the mental gymnastics he’d go through to argue how Chelsea have crushed der markt.

Totally with you on our lost Irish contingent. Especially the first three you mentioned. Marty just seems to get angrier with each post he makes. At least we don’t have pages upon pages of Fatshat arguing for days on end and in circles to deal with.

i'm somewhat perversely glad to know that America isnt the only place where we dont give a **** at all about obvious heinous domestic violence as long as you're good at the sportsball.

The Glazers+Murtaugh/Arnold being completely tone deaf and utterly unable to read a room? You don’t say……..

I said this somewhere else, but at the very least this is piss poor asset management. At worst, it’s just utterly tone deaf. We will never be able to unsee the pics that were released and the audio is out there. Both things shouldn’t have been as they were part of a police investigation. He’s young and has seemingly worked out whatever issues he had with his now wife and mother of his child. That said, he should be loaned out for a year to a competitive league/team and reevaluate next summer. This move will make everything just that much more toxic. Fun times!!!

“I asked you politely and you wouldn’t do it,” the man’s voice says on the audio. “So what else do you want me to do?”

sadly the issue extends far beyond sports and basically it comes down to:

if this person is valuable to the org theyll look the other way depending on the severity/optics of the issue and value of that person. its awful and i hate it.

Back in the day West Ham were considering signing some wrong ‘un (can’t remember who) and used David Sullivan’s son's Twitter account to gauge public opinion amongst the fans.

Sadly the Mancs don’t have this luxury as they are already saddled with him and the Glazers strike me as people that prefer more money to less.

The severity and optics here are about as bad as they get and they're still going to look the other way.

Not found guilty though. So they get to cite Marcos Alonso or whoever else that have been convicted of unpleasant stuff, keep him on and flog him to some desperados (probably us) in 18 months.

why dont they just sell him? let some italian club that doesnt care about this take him. he's not going to be good anyway after having been out for a year and a half

He was their golden eyed boy and heir apparent to the #9 slot. No way they'll sell him if they can get away with keeping him.

It's pretty obvious why witnesses declined to testify against him.

I agree. It doesn't seem that his value of replacement is high enough to be worth dealing with that kind of stuff

I'm a bit mixed on Greenwood. One one hand, the charges were dropped and we don't have all the available evidence on which to evaluate the case.

But on the other hand, it morally feels wrong.

No better example of this than Thomas Partey.

Ya I dont particularly like partey staying at the club, and I find myself at odds with enjoying on field success when hes playing. In the very very best scenario for him he just might be a huge *******, and the worst he'd be a serial rapist. Unfortunately even if no charges are brought it doesn't mean something bad didn't happen, but we will likely never have all the information to properly make an assessment for ourselves.

I think in general rich/famous/powerful people get away with way too much in the realm of sexual harassment, and sexual assault. Victims rarely get the closure and justice they deserve. I've also seen what the other side looks like, and although it's significantly rarer it does exist. If you even so much as suggest that there can be false claims, you get accused of marginalizing the victims of actual sexual assault. Frankly they aren't really wrong either because unfortunately you have so many idiots who just bang the drum that someone's innocent if they don't get punished by the law that they drown out the space to be able to have a careful, thoughtful, and nuanced conversation about the other side of the coin.

Like I feel gross for even bringing up false accusation claims, because so many women who have actually experienced sexual assault immediately get accused of making it up.
