At this point, I’d be absolutely shocked if Ozil makes either the PL or Europa squad. The relationship between club and player seems to be completely beyond repair, and I think it’s obvious at this point that it’s way above whether Arteta wants to use him or not.

IIRC, he didn’t even outright refuse the paycut. He just wanted clarification and assurance that it wasn’t to line Kroenke’s pockets and voiced his concern to other players as well. He’s my favorite player, but it will be nice when all this peripheral stuff is in the past.

This. I was amazed when we bought Reguilon but on limited viewing he has all the attributes to be the best LB in the league.

Mourinho has also really surprised me. I thought he was done after Utd but he's got the team going and so far this season we haven't looked this good since peak Poche. Plus, his man-management so far has been exceptional.

ExTSO only being a bus parker is one of the greatest folk myths in football.

Chelsea played their most fluid attacking football under Jose, especially Jose Mk2.

That said there were times during that Mk2 period where he went all in on the Bus park and it blew up in his face.

Bus park is part of his repertoire and whilst he may use it inappropriately from time to time he does not use it all the time.

That said if he mirrors his Spurs approach to his Chelsea one, he will play expansive until his first big dicking, then everything will become much more negative for some time afterwards.

I think it stems from it being his go to strategy in big games against competent teams, which coincidentally are the games which most casuals will watch.

The Saliba stuff sucks, but he's 19 and apparently a lot of the recent issues are personal with his mom passing away.

Yea, Arteta was pretty upfront about it, saying that Saliba had loads of personal things mixing in with his preparation and he cannot maintain the focus that is needed. Still some noise about him being loaned out for a season domestically.

The most important thing is that the lad knows he is supported. Really sucks as I wanted to see him play a lot this season.

Regarding Ozil, the relationship between him and the club is seemingly irreparable and doubt Arteta has a choice unless he would be ready to butt heads with the people who just financed Partey for him.

It is a real shame that Ozil's career has to finish like this. Was an absolute joy to watch.

I know he had pretty much the World XI at his disposal including absolute prime Ronaldo, but Mou's Real Madrid played the most breathtaking football I've ever seen.

I really don't see how loaning Saliba to a Championship side is good for his development at all. He really seems like a gem and it has a chance to be Gnabry/Pulis 2.0 if we're not careful. Can't imagine being 18, losing your mom and trying to acclimate to a new country and team amidst a global pandemic though. Hope the kid will be alright.
