Good guardian story on 90s Chelsea coaches Graham Rix and Gwyn Williams, and how mad racist they are. i know you're thinking, '90s? chelsea? racism? i am truly shocked', but this is some next level stuff.

I just didn’t know how to handle it and it was constant … the racial slurs of ‘****,’ ‘wog,’ ‘monkey’ … ‘smoking wacky-backy’, which is marijuana, or ‘black bastard,’ ‘****ing black bastard,’ ‘mango-muncher’, ‘******.’

The same player is said to have decided to stand up to Rix when, according to the evidence, the coach asked him whether he had “tried to **** any of our white girls” at the weekend. In the ensuing argument, Rix allegedly threw a cup of coffee in his face. “It burnt my face,” the player says. “I went to grab him. I wanted to kill this guy. Then I had to think … black boy, six foot whatever, hits a white coach – he’s out of football. So I had to hold myself in and I went in to put water on my face because it was burning.”

aorn they're ~3.75 to finish t4 and ~6.5 to ship the EL. Generally agree that it depends on his effect on those chances wether it makes sense to sell, but if it's 30 million quid I think that's a sell. That's like half the difference between CL and EL revenues right?

Btw looking at those EL odds, they seem weird. Atletico favs at 6, ok. But Arsenal 6.5 and dortmund 11 seems like way too big a difference.

I think gambling on 2-3 young players would make this window an ok one.

Sanchez definitely moves the needle for City at least a little bit wrt CL and they can easily afford the luxury. I think he makes a lot less sense for us actually. I wouldn't turn my nose up at him though.

i agree but that's prob only going to be true for like 18 months tops, gap is closing all the time. idk if i were cityfan i'd spend less time fretting about the potential for a high-cost short-term upgrade at winger and more time destroying the f5 button on this page while praying to any/all available gods for for no update

Am I the only one thinking that getting Mkhitaryan and cash for Alexis would be decent business for Arsenal? Mkhi’s value is at its bottom right now, and with a manager who gives him a bit of freedom he should get back to his old form reasonably high % of the time.

the fee is ~nothing but you've got to pay him 250k+ week for 5 years plus 8 figure signing bonus plus 8 figure agent fees. its probably something like £120m all told

just for instance i think they'd have been better off throwing that at vvd assuming he is what ppl say he is
