I think it's pretty obvious what I meant at 6:56am over my morning coffee.

Burnley in 4th is way more impressive than the Opera House imo

Well I clearly misunderstood, so it wasn't that obvious.

-There are places in the stadium you can't have a **** or get a cup of tea.
-Some oldie rant about how football isn't the same as it was.
-Despite this, West Ham are robbing the taxpayers given how good the deal is.
You shouldn’t be pasting an entire bbc article

why not?

I beg to differ. It's just as impressive given the relative budgets of the clubs.

Leicester had a net spend of around £45m that season, we're in profit on our transfers this season and we probably have a bottom three wages budget.

Obviously we're not even half way through the season yet, but even a top half finish would have been beyond all expectations at the start of the season.

lol tp. I’m all for the Team TP tilting every man and his dog but this is a bit too much. It’s not even remotely the same. Even if you finish top four it isn’t even in the same tier as Leicester winning it.

Also it cannot be said enough. Optus are a bunch of wank buying the rights to the PL. I’m in cains and I cannot find a pub/hotel that has the pl due to them being wankers and not selling the rights on.

Guess I’ll just be waking up and checking the scores again.

Well I'm glad we clarified that minor semantic point for you, but "isn't nearly as impressive" is still not the same as "not impressive".

As we have just seen, a minor grammatical error could result in someone completely misunderstanding the entire argument, so it's better to be safe and quote verbatim.

Yeah, maybe I went a bit over the top, but if we somehow do finish top four I think it's close to Leicester's achievement, given the money spent, and the pundits on Sportsnet Ontario were saying the same last night.
12-13-2017 , 08:35 AM
would be close to wigan 2013 achievement i reckon, ie not in the same stratosphere as the leicestering

I think that's the usual interpretation of the phrase if you don't provide anything it's isn't nearly as impressive as.

But not as the point of reference, due to your use of the word "since".

And round and round we go...

liverpool 0 - 1 wimbledon > everton finishing 4th in 04/05 iyam

TP, how many points do you think Burnley would have right now if their luck had been completely even/neutral this season? You can answer more than your actual point total if you wish

Yeah it's a joke. They do sell the rights to pubs etc. but Cairns probably isn't the place for fans of EPL

That's a stupid question that is impossible to answer.
12-13-2017 , 09:34 AM
Ok, here is another then if you don't want to answer

With no knowledge of the future, what line would you set TODAY for burnley total points in the 18/19 campaign if you were a bookmaker trying to make money

Well I'm not a bookie and I don't really know how they come up with their lines, so I'll just pluck a number out of the air based on my expectations for next season, assuming no major changes.

About 40.

What are you trying to prove? That we're doing better than expected?
12-13-2017 , 09:55 AM
Anyone can tell that Burnley are doing better than expected, I think he's trying to ask whether you expect them to remain performing well or to regress to the mean next season.
