I’m surprised how many of these shouts align with my taste in music. Definitely most similar to ao, but even the old geezers in here like some good music.

In addition to many good choices proposed, I’ll nominate basically anything sufjan has made. Illinois is probably the top.

Selected Ambient Works

Appetite for destruction
The black album

And il get some bashing for this but
A rush of blood to the head

Rush of blood to the head is an awesome album. I'll even freely admit to liking a few tracks off X&Y too. Coldplay disappeared up their own arses with the whole "a sky full of dreams" nonsense but some of their stuff was definitely really good.

Yea viva la Vida was when they realised it was easier and more profitable to write catchy crap that stadiums of people would belt out.

It was all downhill after Parachutes for me.

Coldplay have always written crap that stadiums of people would belt out.

I'm not into anything coldplay have done for about 15 years but I saw them live last summer and thought it was pretty fun.

Coldplay has been responsible for one good thing

10-26-2017 , 08:40 AM
Moby - Play
Nas - Illmatic
De La Soul - Three Feet High and Rising
Primal Scream - Screamadelica
Portishead - Dummy

All worthy of discussion.

Loveless was a good shout earlier as well.

it's kent - du och jag döden

Huge love to hoopie for including the national who are my favorite band but I couldn't throw them in. They might have the best discography of the 2000s though.

if you lose on either game people get to kick the ball at your back/ass from 10 yards away. pretty painful in winter

and curby if we got really bored.

also never lost a game vs other kids in 5aside down park. we were the GOAT at it in our endz

british bulldog also banned at my school for some stupid reason
Red arse was the main game we played. Our PE teacher played with us during lessons (LOL) not sure that was on the curriculum

Got a Bare arse once on a freezing winter night with a champs league ball. Had a red star on my ass cheek when I took a bath that night lol

I'll blame my fat thumbs and auto correct for that one.

semi-Grunching:

I'd be more interested to hear what she thinks the best album of the last 3 years is.

fwiw, I just don't consume music through whole albums now - I've probably listened to <10 albums all the way through in the last 10 years and ~-0 more than, say, 3 times. So while, eg, I thought Artic Monkey's AM seemed like a pretty good record I really wouldn't be able to start to rate it against the first Stone Roses album, say.

But assuming we're going back to before LO daughter was born, and while agreeing with 72o that there many possibles, I'm pretty certain that the best album of the 90s was Underworld's dubnobasswithmyheadman.

Last 3 years is tough. The one I thought of turns out to be 8 years old. My brain can't cope with it not being 2010 right now.

Second Appetite, Nevermind, Doolitle. Would add:

Blood Sugar Sex Magic - not a fan of RHCP in general but this was just perfection from start to finish

...and justice for all - just makes the 30 year cut. Again not a huge metallica fan but this was a masterpiece.

Ten - PJ GOAT

Best album of past three years is easy - To Pimp a Butterfly, nothing else close. Black Messiah next best

Best album I've heard in the last four years is The XX - Coexist
