Why does Hefele not play?

Wouldn't mind him up the road.

Is Mitrovic just completely out of favor? I was really surprised they bought Joselu considering they still have all of the forward players from their last stint in the PL.

I actually like Joselu though. He had pretty good stats for the little bit of time he did play.

Trippier is back!

Hazard not in the squad!

Björn's been claiming it's because Mitrovic doesn't have pace and Benitez doesn't know what to do with him on twitter just now.

No stats in this world will convince me that Joselu is any good

I have no idea what this Chelsea lineup is. Park the bus I guess.
08-20-2017 , 10:12 AM
2 championship teams.
08-20-2017 , 10:21 AM
Is it time to start talking about Huddersfield making top 4 yet?
08-20-2017 , 10:32 AM
Newcastle were so bad. Didn't even look like they were trying at the end.

Bakayoko and morata starting is huge.
Lineup is about as good as it can be considering the various issues we have.

Yeah and I don't think it's just (over) relying on counter-attacking from those shut down central spaces Benitez (almost late 90s hockey trap like) obsess over but also how mobile front players need to cover those making things as tight as possible.

It is what it is and used to rule football I guess and has a place still. It's just frustrating when it hurts actual good talent that he has to work with. That probably could make the team better.

Hamsik when Benitez was Napoli coach the prime example (as a front player he couldn't cover defensively those spaces tightly enough or be off ball threat attacking from relative deep compared to up high now under Sarri and Benitez didn't really trust him in central midfield either).

Based on early talent shown and what Mitrovic still does for his national team, I think there is a more than good chance that Mitrovic could make Newcastle better but yeah, for it to really happen it would require something of an overhaul setup wise.

Of course plenty of PL or Championship managers would just use him as a target-man within the 2nd-ball style of play. That would be better than the current nothing of course but I suspect he has more to offer than that also.

Might be the most defensive line up I've ever seen from Chelsea. They have defenders everywhere and Willian, a quite workmanlike attacking player, is their only creator. Bit of an early season crisis here personnel wise for them.

I agree, this game is a perfect storm for Spurs. Chelsea were not in this bad shape in terms of team selection through the whole of last season, and last week was an awful result for them whichever way you look at it.

But yeah, 0-3 incoming.
08-20-2017 , 10:51 AM
Yeah it will be interesting how this works. Surely they'll smash and grab one goal at least, so we'll need to get the parking brake off the bus.

I really love how no matter what result unfolds, the narrative will all be about WEMBLEY.

"Spurs can't win at Wembley!"
"Spurs are showing they CAN win at Wembley"!

But I do understand Tottenham's concerns regarding the atmosphere at Wembley. I remember one occasion at Arsenal Ladies we opted to play a major fixture at our Boreham Wood rather than Wembley - we knew we could pack out our home ground and create an amazing atmosphere. It does make a difference.

In for another episode of lol he said hazard not more important than kante.
08-20-2017 , 10:58 AM
I'll be very surprised if Chelsea don't win this game of football
