Wish refs would go hard in the paint like this with other things like timewasting, player pressure (just snap show a yellow to anyone complaining) and other insufferable things "ruining the game" just like those mad prices are

Agreed. Will be interesting how they'll use the post-game bans for diving this season as well.

Although if you listened to 72o then Fabregas' yellow for sarcastically applauding the ref is one of the biggest injustices in human history. I don't think you'll see a clearer yellow all season.

Not if you're the reigning champions and thus deserve special treatment (especially when playing at home to a club you think you're intrinsically better than).

Sarcastically applauding the ref's decision as blatantly as that is not a simple case of "dissent", but I'm inclined to agree with you. I think it should be a snap booking every time (at least with speech you can give them the option to stop first, I guess).

guessing a lot of it is also just week 1 stuff

be harsh, put a marker down, hopefully the players back off
then loosen up as things go along until we get to the normal point where it's like impossible to get booked or win a PK

I agree the reffing was ****ty. You could well have had Luiz and Alonso sent off too, but I do think the Rudiger booking seemed harsh.

I thought him and Pogba were brilliant together. Granted they were up against Mark Noble et al, but my praise of him as a Yid was not to goad his former team's fans. He's not Van Persie.
