Can’t think of many places that beat Chicago in the spring / fall. Winters are brutal though kdawg just probably numb to it. Lived there for 1.5 years. Definitely an awesome place.

Yeah Chicago tourism board doesn't have the same marketing push that the coastal cities (and central Florida) seem to have. I've only been living here for 3 months, but my wife is originally from here so have spent a ****load of time here over the last 15 years. Love it.

In the last 3 months I've had a ton of friends come visit, and everyone adores it. Lots of "can't believe I've been to New York 3 times but never bothered to come here" type reactions. My parents were the same.

For example, although the weather kind of sucks today we have the following options:

https://www.cityofchicago.org/city/e...festival.html/

http://www.ribfest-chicago.com/

http://www.andersonville.org/events/midsommarfest/

https://www.wellsstreetartfest.us/

There's also the Underground Film Festival if that's your thing, and the Spring Awakening music festival with a lot of music I hate and some I love.

What I do need to figure out is where the good dance music is. I've been to smartbar and spybar and had good times, there has to be stuff like Cityfox in NYC, warehousey type stuff....

Thread tradition on international tournament eve...

Don't know if it was mentioned, but the mickey mouse cup has got rid of extra time and is going straight to penalties, which seems thoroughly sensible if they're not going to axe it altogether

I hope we're not in any trouble going into the last few weeks of the season, our last four games are as tough as they come.

April 20 - Chelsea (A)
April 27 - Manchester City (H)
May 4 - Everton (A)
May 12 - Arsenal (H)

That last game looks like a home banker

Since we have a table to tell us that burnley are the 7th best team in the league, i wouldn't worry

Don't be silly, that table was for the season just gone. We won't know the rankings for next season until it's finished.

On a related note, my missus has gone on holiday without me for the first time since we've been together. I had to take one of the cats to be put down this morning (one down, one to go!). She's had the cat for longer than she's had me.

Let her know or not?

"I'm sorry to tell you that there's still one of the ****ers left."

If you do tell her then I'd go with something impersonal. Text message, or maybe a Whatsapp.

"Guess what?"
"What?"
"Molly won't be scratching the furniture any more."

She's not one of these mad cat lovers and the cat was very old so I doubt she'll be massively upset.

Anyway, enough about cats, Europa League draw in five minutes!

Exactly, except for you it's not your first "European" trip for over 50 years, probably one of the toughest draws we could've got as well. At least it isn't far to go I suppose.
