10. Would have got 15 if I'd looked up spellings. I couldn't spell el hadj diouf to save my life. That's still not right is it?

He's El Hadji Diouf. I just typed in "spitter" and got a point for that one.

I know Man Utd are 4/1 to win the title (which I find way too short) and Arsenal are 6/1 but would it be fair/anyone interested if I were to bet Man Utd total points vs Arsenal at evens?

----

we are playing lens at 20:00 CET if anyone is interested

no, but I'd take Arsenal +4.5pts at even money for up to $500, based on current SI lines.

lmk if you're up for a bet on that handicap
07-22-2016 , 11:23 AM
i wonder what a fair line would be for blitw winner vs la liga winner

+15? +20?
07-22-2016 , 11:23 AM
Happy to bet chelsea > arse evens; chelsea > utd 38:62 (negotiable)
07-22-2016 , 11:27 AM
Think if i were completely neutral I'd buy Man City, sell utd, buy arsenal, sell chelsea, sell spurs, sell plop
07-22-2016 , 11:37 AM

Why is it way too short? Thats 20% to title a team managed by Mourinho spending legit hundreds of millions...

(Sorry misread the bet)

Looking forward to getting these season bets up and running. That Utd market is gonna change once Pogz gets announced no? or have they already accounted for the imminent signing

nah, 77 pts means you're a fav to finish ahead of everyone individually but not collectively

like, lets say you're city and its the end of the year and u got 77 pts. you're gonna find yourself ahead of mun like 60% of the time, ahead of chelsea 75%, ahead of arsenal 75%, ahead of pool 90% and spuds 90%. so you probably beat every team on an individual basis. but to win the title you need to finish ahead of all of them so you need to bink all of those dice rolls = 0.6*0.75*0.75*0.9*0.9 = 0.27 = 27% title equity

(all numbers plucked from anus)

What is the line on winning total? Got to be low 80s max again this year with the shark tank.
07-22-2016 , 12:08 PM
dunno but yeah probably low to mid 80s

My debt is piling higher after all these years of my BAIDS education.

speaking of pissing away money on bad futures bets, i backed bvb last year and it was lol easy for bayern to crush the league.

now i'm tempted to back bvb again! this is the year!

Back to the point of this thread, though... i wonder how many more longshot bets (in Barclays) the books are getting after last season. they mighta paid out some huge hits but i'm sure that will come back to them and then some with marketing. now every team has a chance, right?

It would be much easier to have pre-season in North America or Europe. The decision to come here was based on the passion of the fans.
It is better than blaming the ref, or the physio, I guess.

Any money the betting industry paid out on Leicester was covered several times over by the losing bets both before and throughout the season on Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Spurs, Utd(!) and Liverpool(!!), but you're right to point out that bookies have also used Leicester's shock win as a marketing opportunity to encourage people to spew money on long shots.

It's definitely an interesting market already for the upcoming season. My current feeling is that Spurs (10/1) and Arsenal (13/2) are both overpriced and pretty much everyone else is too short. United (7/2), Liverpool (9/1) and Everton (100/1) look especially terrible prices.

Disclaimer, I am a massive loser at sports betting and a renowned cash cow for the regs itt.
