Yeah Henderson was very good two seasons ago.

Fuçk da police for murdering an unarmed 48 year old man who was drunk. I hope whoever killed him gets sent down for manslaughter.

Everyone else more or less played like the players that they are. Henderson if what he showed was for real is essential for where Liverpool will go this season.

Now I'm actually considering visiting RAWK to see if no one else is noticing or thinking these Henderson thoughts.
I feel like you're saying two different things here. Good enough can still mean bad. And I agree we need him going forward.

I'm failing to see what you think he did/does well? Win possession? Control the midfield? Recycle possession? Shift from defense to attack? Dribble? Pick a pass? Because I don't think he did any of those things well yesterday.

He switched possession nicely as a pivot when we were in a counter in their final third but for a deep lying midfielder I don't think he did anything well in or defensive half. His positioning was really horrible. His effort on the Ox goal was embarrassing and his ridiculous touch led to the Moreno penalty. Thought he had a really bad game and don't get the praise for him. He is going to be crucial to us this season if that's where he is playing so hope he improves.

Another clue - it is a woman. And another - if her face caught fire, I would happily extinguish it with a bike chain.

Aaaand the Arsenal injury bad variance continues... Ramsey out for a month (without applying the 3x duration arsenal multiplier)

I really like Henderson and always have done, very underrated in the final third and was a key player when we finished second.

I've always been high on Henderson as well. Really good first touch and one/two touch passing. Can link play up well in tight spots. Obviously presses well. I agree that he lacks composure in the final third though.

Was most impressed with Mane up close yesterday. He seems really good at a lot of things and a lot better in tight spaces than I thought.

I'm watching the game again only watching Henderson. I'm not sure if I'll actually finish. I guess that I will, but right now I have to interrupt proceedings at 18 minutes because that's when I had not really started paying attention to anything noteworthy-Henderson yesterday, but I'm pretty excited that he just played a near optimal first 18 minutes doing everything possible within the game right, in fact better than right, and basically nothing wrong. We'll see how the rest holds up but I'm even more impressed with him now.

I'm logging the all the Henderson moments of near or almost near involvement. Other than these I think his positioning was fine in general getting in the way of some passing lanes at times but mostly simply being part of the way the team by choice or force defended for this period. Fine teamwork basically.

4.13 some nice little off-ball work to help Liverpool successfully play it out from the back

7.45 excellent winning the ball CLEAN from Ramsey in Liverpool final third where Arsenal had worked their possession into. Then he does not mindlessly clear the ball into duel-phase, but in narrowish space with looming pressure immediately passes it short and Liverpool can start possession. Unfortunately a few passes later Mignolet enters the ball into second-ball-phase anyway

9.56 this is good! He intercepts an errant "packing" pass ahead of Ramsey and directly from that first touch find Mane in Arsenal final third. Maybe Mane didn't know yet about Henderson's underrated first touch game because unfortunately he wasn't running on to this. He immediatly gets vertical though and in the end Liverpool get a decent situation 1v1 around and into Arsenal's box

12.23 earlier in start of Liverpool possession he had been marked and again seemingly fine dragged opponent away for openings. Again Mignolet goes long into 2nd-ball phase. Lallana wins that and runs the ball forward. Henderson we assume outruns opponents coming forward because at 12.23 he gets the ball probably not optimally or quickly enough in space and Iwobi can pressure him from behind. Henderson comes through thought with a nice first touch and on second passes a good ball onto Clyne coming forward on the right. Clyne shoots. A key pass for Henderson! All in all, again I think that he got the best out of the situation.

15.14 Ehhh first mistake I guess. Finally it doesn't look like he is marked for start of Liverpool buildup from the back. Mignolet maybe take too much time though and when he rolls the ball to Henderson, Coq has apparently made up ground off cam and gets a touch to Henderson's rushed get out of jail pass. Arsenal get some pressure and ends up with a decent freekick opportunity.

17.42 another really attentative interception and another intelligent first touch pass

17.52 again managed to get open for Mignolet in buildup. Coq still tries to get to him from behind... Henderson however hits a quick very nice accurate diagonal ball to Clyne on the right-wing. That right there is the stuff that capable and intelligent midfield distributors are made of and I guess that's where I started to really find this worth noting. Now Mane take the ensuing attack to the next level and into the Arsenal box but never forget where and how attacks like these start. Xabi Alonso for years and years has been the master at giving the beginning of possessions exactly the level of constructiveness needed to amount to non-waste and that I'm even mentioning Alonso here must be a good thing. Or a boom thing.

So far so good! I don't know if I'll finish but so far it's an interesting enough second viewing especially when I did consider this performance important.

has there ever been a reason why they have so many injuries? or is it just a case of wenger giving the ones who get injured billions of chances so it seems like they always have injuries

No Payet wtf

Extended break due to the Euros, not up to full match fitness. Same as Gylfi for Swansea.

Team to face West Ham: Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, JT (c), Azpi; Kante; Willian, Matic, Oscar, Hazard; Costa.

Most previews thought he'd play but market seemed to know he wasn't as it's only moved in from 1.57 to 1.55 so far on team news.

Collins over Ogbonna unexpected I think and also no Feghouli.
