So when Klopp comes to LFC because of the immensity of our greatness and the romance we embody it destroys that comfort zone and is a reminder of the one thing that United fans fear more than anything - a successful Liverpool is United's nemesis and will diminish them. Klopp is a wake-up call for many people and the laughter at Liverpool always had a nervous quality to it from you when we were at our low ebb.
A successful Klopp at Liverpool who revives us if successful will take United fans back to the bleak days before you had the upper hand over us, your central obsession and that is why the next few seasons are going to be an adventure for us and potentially a very frightening time for you.
I had reservations about Klopp and would have preferred Ancelotti but he has came over very well at this first press conference giving some really good answers.
He says that he is aiming to win the league once in the next 4 seasons.
This season is as good a shot as we will get. Chelsea are looking awful, Man City without Aguero don't look half as good and Arsenal and Man U will be the same if they lose 1 or 2 of their top players.
chelsea are too **** for any real humourless ranting meltdowns from our resident busfans because its impossible for them not to understand that there is a funny side to this, objectively speaking
what we need for a real meltdown is grinding mediocrity over a long period - not so catastrophic as to be lol, just a steady drip drip of dire performances and beige results
you know the sort of 6 month run that routinely leads to poolfan/spudsfan = gibbering mess
5th biggest wage bill, 5th biggest spend (im talking net spend, not spend, net spend), 5th biggest stadium
=5th
course 5th is your likely avg finishing position - something like 7th, 2nd, 6th would obv be much better than 5th 5th 5th. but you're not likely to ever have a manager who can achieve that sort of miracle, the people capable of that are all presumably off coaching barcelona and the like
