In international break worthy news, Jordan is leading Bangladesh 4-0 30 minutes into the game.

Not sure how Redknapp's haircut is these days but I'm assuming it's pretty good looking

Ambush is clearly taking this pretty hard.

Judge is summing up in the Adam Johnson case, and it's not looking good...

f1 drivers took the unprecedented step of writing a letter of concern to management regarding the downwards trajectory of the sport. bernie's response:

I have been in Formula One for nearly fifty years in an active role and another eighteen involved in some way. You state that every individual acts with the very best intentions. I am not sure if this is a misprint. If not, it should read "with their very best intentions".

Best wishes,

Bernie

BREAKING NEWS: Adam Johnson jailed for six years
03-24-2016 , 09:28 AM
Six years, what a joke.

i guess being 15 and having some famous footballer falsely insist that you're a liar in public with millions of people following the trial could **** you up real bad, guess thats what much of the sentence is for

what's the plan if you're adam johnson now, gotta be to liquidate all assets, grow a big beard and gtfo of the country once he's done his time right? guessing places like america and australia aren't gonna take a registered nonce but i'm sure he can find somewhere to flee
03-24-2016 , 09:34 AM
A teaching assistant and pupil is worse though. Six years for Johnson is probably about right, but no way she should be able to cash in.

Bad things to happen today:
1) The passing of one of the finest footballers to play the game.
2) HH offering his opinions on morality.

Would be a little disappointed if there aren't a few fat topless Newcastle fans with beers outside the courthouse signing that "going down for noncin'" chant.

Thanks for the link to the Spurs academy director thing

I've been super ultra fascinated in soccer tactics/coaching since I started watching soccer. Maybe I'll coach my hypothetical children's teams one day, which will hopefully exist.

With international managers having to decide if the players wives and girlfriends can join them at Euro 2016, it's nice to see one manager has set some ground rules.

Spoiler:

Speaking of coaching it's been fun for me to realize all sports are, at the lowest common denominator, the same. (At least ones where the goal is to score a point at one end of the playing pitch. Not, like, tennis.) It's about space. Basketball is the sport of my youth. I love watching games now and when a team finds a rare 3 on 1 fast break opportunity or whatever and it looks exactly like a soccer club on the counter break. And even when teams play short corner give and Go's and I'm thinking "that's exactly from my grade school ball coaches playbook!"

Anyways, just rambling. Sports are similar and fun. Happy international break.

Whenever the girlfriend situation is brought up I just find it weird. As long as John Terry isn't there, it makes sense to have your family there. I doubt there's any evidence one way or another that it has an effect on performance. Safe option: let them tag along.

Good run for Johann - read he was a chronic smoker, half time cigarettes and all that so no surprise it's lung cancer. He's had a great life it seems.

Really great post. Further enforces the idea poch likely best coach in the epl.

Your slut girlfriend whose name you cannot remember is not your family (at least I hope not). They are probably going to be a distraction, but then it is during down time and it probably isn't much different from being at home. There probably isn't much to be distracted from, bar the XBox and card school.

Cryuff gave up tabs in 1991, but he probably had the equivalent of three lifetimes of cigarettes before that.

Family / partner / whatever, I have a different view but will keep that to myself. At the olmpics they're all ****ing each other and still pulling out results. Brits have a weird attitude to sex and maybe the only reason they won the world cup back in 1966 is they had no choice but to go home and **** their wife.

Isn't there like a myth running around that sex makes sport performances wrong? Never looked into it but sounds bs to me

I used to do much better at school when single than when I had some girl to mess around with so I guess i can kinda see where the coaches are coming from. Don't want your player to go to sleep at 6 in the morning after a mad sex session with the lady and turning up to training on 2 hours sleep
