Sad thing is Wigan and especially Whelan are gonna get **** from the media for this undeservingly. I can't think of a better type of person to hire in regards to character.

A Saturday win with a Thierry Welbecky goal + epic celebration would be amazing. Unfortunately that won't happen...I don't think he will celebrate when he scores
11-19-2014 , 10:03 AM
Have no idea whether he would or not, but Welbeck should definitely celebrate if he scores. Noncelebration in this spot is a criminal.

Why should he celebrate? He's a boyhood United fan whose been at the club since he was 8.

You can't think of a better person without the character of a racist, sexist homophobe (shady bastard with other people's money also) to manage Wigan.

Lovely.

As for Malky, he got a bankrolled Cardiff promoted but has done **** all else to warrant being flavour of the month except maybe his initial public battle with Tan.

Meh- I rather see a player go full Adebayor/RvP than that apologetic "Sorry I'm this good" **** that seems to be the trend nowadays

Oh please. If he's racist then so am I because I've done a lot worse, many times over. And guess what? I'm the furthest thing from racist. Malky is a class act.

Go on then....class act based on what?

This should be fun.

any player who refuses to celebrate after scoring against a former club ought to be banned for bringing the game into disrepute by being an irritating little pussy.
11-19-2014 , 10:22 AM
Seems like an opportune moment to post this...

11-19-2014 , 10:31 AM
Yupp. Although I hated every ****ing minute of that I think that should be part of football.
That is why I found it extremely dumb how the ref booked Chadli after he scored against us and did the "I can't hear you" celebration

Sure, then United kicked him out on the curb. To be clear, Welbeck has his own values and priorities and whatnot, but man I can't fathom being in his spot and not wanting to stick it to United. And if he does, he should celebrate. Lampard not celebrating: fine. Player scoring against the boyhood club that gave him his chance, then allowed him to move on to brighter pastures: grudging acceptance. (No, this does not describe Welbeck.) Everyone else: spare us the show of humility.

1) Malky said racist things
2) You've done more racist things than that
3) You're the furthest thing from racist
4) Malky is a class act

I'm with you on 1) and 2), but I feel that 3) and 4) are less than convincing on their face.

Carrick has the experience and game reading abilities that make your point redundant.

lol wtf is this?

Our pressing is getting there and Carricks weakness is how much he blows when pressed.

There are so few spots where Im okay with a non celebration. Lampard vs chelsea, henry vs arsenal. Im sure there are others but few and far between.

No need to go full adebayor but the whole go out of your way to not celebrate is silly. A badge/shirt point type thing would do well without being too ridiculous.

Welbeck was born and raised in Manchester as a United fan and in the academy from the earliest age possible. How was he not given a chance? He made his debut at 17 and in 2011-2012 season was seen as the number 1 starter up front with Rooney (ahead or Berba and Chica) only persistent injuries kept he from his regular spot. For years rivals fans had been slated SAF for including Welbeck saying he wasn't good enough so I don't see how he wasn't given a chance at the club.

As for allowing him to move to brighter pastures United have acted impeccably with Welbeck even to their own detriment. What other team allows him to move to a direct rival for a bargain price? United could have easily prevented any move or looked for foreign clubs to do a deal with but out of loyalty to a player who has been a good servant to the club they understood his situation and didn't stand in the way.
