No, he has had horrible end product overall. Just like your opinion that United ran very hot yet were still the better team, it's equally possible that Di Maria has ran hot with assists, but unlike United today, hasn't been that good.

He also basically played himself out of the starting XI. Had a run of poor games and then got suspended after the silly red card. Mata, his replacement, has been class.

Also, his turnovers are WOAT. They aren't the type of turnovers you are thinking of - the type fanerio thinks defines an elite player like Messi. They aren't even close to that. Just off the top of my head I can remember 2 turnovers from Di Maria that lead directly to the opposition scoring.
