Perth Glory kicked out of the Australian finals (three weeks to go, top 6 make finals, we are currently a couple points of top spot) because of salary cap breaches. A similar case a few years ago against Sydney (glamour team that always gets favoured) resulted in only a three point deduction.

Not happy

He's a yellow bastard, there was probably someone running after him that was going to tackle him.

Spoiler:

Are those really English football players of the olden days betraying "The English Way" and swarming the ref? I thought that's a at most a rare occurrence even today, and happens only because of all the foreign players in the Prem today, but was virtually nonexistent in the days of old, when only fine, English gentlemen were playing the game on the island.

I'm confused. Must be a photoshop, surely?

They are asking for directions to the nearest public house. The gentleman on the right thinks the Red Lion is closest, however the referee says that the Queen's Head is nearer and in the other direction.

Hector Bellerin who recently broke Arsenals all time 40metre record was 21st on that list fwiw. I mean I don't really know what to make of the list, so many guys you'd think would be on there aren't.

Is it a case of being deceived by running styles? Someone like Di Maria has such an intense, high intensity running style but is actually not a particularly efficient runner. Or he has amazing acceleration but lower top speed. Alexis is probably another one who is great over 15-20m but levels off soon after.

Pretty certain it was Ryo Miyaichi who broke the record.

And although Sterling had the attacking initiative, he raped Bellerin for pace on a number of occasions last weekend.

lol amazing

Looks like he missed a few brave englishmen though. Could have put Smalling for Kompany, Shaw for Blind and Milner for one of Toure/Mata/Fellaini.

I'll have a go:

--------------DDG---------------
Zaba Kompany Smalling Blind
------------Carrick--------------
---------Toure--Di Marķa-------
-Mata---------------------Silva-
-------------Aguero-------------

CB to partner Kompany is probably a toss up between Smalling/Rojo/Demichelis. If we're picking on form rather than talent Milner or Young would get ahead of ADM (although I'm not sure how Milner has been recently?). LB options are kind of meh, Blind has been very good there this season though but it's not his best position so could be convinced on either of the City LB's there.

Stopped reading at Hart

I ignored the ten other players at first and just read it as "Stuart Pearce, blind". Which seems pretty accurate.

No you're wrong, they're all dirty foreigners obviously.

I think Pearce channelled his inner JoeDiego with that selection.

My team:

DDG
Zabaleta Kompany Evans Clichy
Toure Carrick Fellaini
Silva Aguero ADM

"top speed" one of the most useless/irrelevant measurements I can think of in football.
acceleration is everything

Looks like I managed to out-homer JD there. Well done me.

Feels like having Mata and Silva both as wingers is somehow wasting them. Having 2 wingers and neither of them being ADM also seems crazy.
