right well if you think Hazard is a diver i think that explains a lot about your opinion

He also gets bailed out five times a game by Vert's great positioning; someone (Poch? Lloris? Oh captain my captain Kaboul??) has finally gotten through to Vert, he was never this responsible paired with Dawson.

Thought Vlad was also good, I've always wondered why he wasn't given more of a chance out wide over Dier, Naughton, and bad-form Rose. Don't look now but our defense has graduated from "outrageous diarrhea" to "merely unacceptable"

I'm honestly more worried about the MF. Tottenham are mostly a bunch of guys who are good workers but bad players. Credit to Stambouli/Mason/Chadli for being physical and wearing people out, but when it comes to performing actual verbs on an actual ball, soccer is maybe not their game. (Kickball though...) We do have a few guys with confirmed skill, but for different reasons they struggle with Poch's system, like if they were disney movies then Lamela would be Bambi, Dembele would be Frozen, and Townsend would be Dumbo because Townsend is so dumb. Eriksen is our best player but is always going to disappear for stretches on this team as constructed, until one day he will reappear for a really extended stretch on a team that's constructed differently, to the point where they wear PSG's uniforms. It's really too bad Paulinho sucks because the idea of Paulinho would be really helpful.

No Gerrard tomorrow, rested. The two Spanish lads will play as wing backs.

**** sakes what a ****ty loss. Wanted to throw my TV off the balcony when we gave up that pen at the end of the 1st half ...... had those ****ers on the ropes for the first 25 minutes but couldn't score a goal, well one that the cheaters aka linesmen wouldn't steal.

Top 4 aint happening now

in conclusion, I can 100% understand why you lifelong / local Spurs fans don't want to be bought by Qatar, but speaking as a relatively new fan who is fearful of being driven insane by decades of half-measures and stadium bills, I pray every night to the inky god of oil and corruption that He will find it in His slippery heart of tar to grace Tottenham with the gift of UNLIMITED MONEY so that we can rise above punchline status and rip Arsenal's balls off. It's a brave new world and the only way that Danny Blanchflower is walking through that door if he's being carried on a burnished throne by a team of perfumed elephants on a conspicuously Wednesday night. Granted that selling our soul would be sort of ungraceful and probably not what King Arthur or Scotty Parker would do but maybe we shouldn't worry so much about the opinions of cuckolds and bad midfielders and just have faith that the bitter taste of moral compromise will go down a lot easier when it's mixed with ten gallons of Cashy's tears.

The announcer at half time took great delight in telling us that Chelsea had only drawn with Southampton and City would be only one point behind.

The Etihad is a great stadium, but it all seems so sterile and Americanised. Horrible view of the other end which was where all the goals went in. I did quite enjoy standing throughout the game though.

I your posts.

I really hope you get paid for writing something somewhere, it would be a waste if just us SE'ers got to enjoy your way with words.

sure they might be but hugely biased or not i will die with the belief that Hazard is far from a diver and i'm amazed that there are people who thinks Hazard dives all the time

I agree he doesn't dive "all the time" like Ashley Young or Suarez but he certainly does dive often enough that you notice it. You seemed to be taking offense with the idea of him being a diver at all though.

According to Pellegrini the City players were tired due to playing 2 games in 3 days.

Well Burnley had the same 11 players starting on Boxing Day, made no substitutions today and didn't look tired at the end. Their fitness levels must be through the roof.

Ashley Barnes (£450k from Brighton) gave Mangala (£30 odd million) a torrid time and was magnificent.

Meanwhile, hilarious old panini stickers

yeah Hazard is more a "20yo scouse girl after 5 vodka red bulls" rather than a "40yo veteran hooker with a crack habit and 3 kids to feed" when it comes to going down easily

Pulis is a priori unlikely to be appointed at WBA if/when Irvine is sacked - the head coach has even less control over transfer policy than at Palace. Of course, if Pulis regrets walking out on that point of principle but doesn't want to lose face by going back to Palace then it's very likely that he would be in the race.

Berahino got a lot of flack from the media and his solid English pro teammates towards the end of last year (vs Cardiff) for just this. (Well, we were 3-2 up and Cardiff scored, so the game ended 3-3.)

Quite successful day for Liverpool.

Burnley

Watched second half and they created a couple of other really good openings that didn't end up as shots due to poor technique/other. Their manager wanted them to stick it in the box with that free kick during injury time judging by his post match interview but the players didn't listen

A priori does not mean what you think it means.

Edit: do you mean prima facie?

So Boyd was offside. Makes up for Tottenham's first goal last week, I suppose. Draw definitely a fair result though.

And Dyche was definitely telling them to get that free kick into the box at the end of the game.

I believe LVG said the same about his players, Kev.
