Heat seemed to be much more comfortable on offense than vs Cha. A lot of their good offensive spurts vs Charlotte involved very good shotmaking. The OT did as well, but a lot of the game Wade and Dragic were getting into the lane. Joe too.

The Raps perimeter D is a step down from the Lee/Batum/Marvin trio.

Whiteside's health will be a big key. He looked solid 2nd half. Miami might not have the individual defenders that Indy does, but they aren't giving up 15-20 Orebs a game either which negates a lot of that.

After thinking about it it's having spacing + 4 (at least quasi) ball handlers

Offense can keep flowing when it gets rotated to the 4 who has to pump fake and move if he doesn't have a shot. On top of better spacing for penetration where the 4 can keep moving around on the perimeter and back cut and the like better than a Bosh, also helps a lot with transition offense

Raps should be fine defensively, esp once Deng comes back to earth. Their offense looks to be in dire straits though

This is my first nba playoff game and first game in tor. So pretty pumped

coaches burning timeouts unnecessarily has long been a pet peeve of mine, got a perfect example from Casey there in G1. Raps were chasing down 4-8 points a lot of the time, then that play happens where after a score Wade fumbled the ball out of bounds. they review it, and it's pretty clear that it's gonna be Raps ball right away, review goes on for the standard 2 minutes or whatever anyway, should be plenty of time to convey what you want to happen next, right (afaik they still let teams use these reviews as bonus TOs essentially)? review comes back, Raps ball, Casey calls TO to draw something up anyway.

then at the end of course they need the timeout down 3 with 3.3 seconds, but Lowry binks the halfcourt heave. seemed incredibly stupid from Casey, but i guess i'm not surprised given how much everyone says he sucks.

To be fair, they deserve all of the bad mouthing they get, they're not good and have a 0% chance of winning this series.

Obviously the Heat aren't a great offensive team but my main takeaway from game 1 was the step down in perimeter D from Cha to Tor that Miami was facing.

Wade, Dragic and Joe all seemed to get to their spots better.
