Maybe I'm just being a homer here (actually no way maybe (ok maybe they might have about the same chance that the Lions have of winning a game the rest of the year))

But....

No

Lions would destroy UF and OU. Guys like Jeff Backus who are turnstiles against real defenses, would look like pro bowlers.

their best chance is if NO or GB is eliminated from the playoffs and so heart broken that they don't "give it their all"

"Who is running the Detroit Lions? Rod Marinelli? Martin Mayhew? The Ford family?

How about Matt Millen?

Wait a minute -- didn't he get fired?

Maybe he did and maybe he didn't, depending upon who you are willing to believe. Two different National Football League sources -- one of them close to the Fords -- insist that the Millen firing earlier this season was just a ploy to appease angry fans of the 0-13 Lions and that Millen is still calling the shots and on the club's payroll as a consultant.

One NFL scout acknowledged that this rumour is making the rounds through the league and that while he couldn't absolutely confirm it, it wouldn't be shocking news to many in the football world."

WTF

The NFL needs to institute some sort of policy that holds owners accountable for their franchise's performance. There should have been a forced sale years ago.

I believe it's up to the fans to hold the owners accountable by not go to games

I understand revenue sharing but there is a big difference on how the media would cover things if there is 10,000 people in the stands rather than what they are drawing now 50,000ish.

I don't understand what the media would be doing differently. The Lions are a joke. I haven't seen anyone saying they aren't.

If I were the Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, etc. I would not be happy with owners who run their NFL Franchise like a 12-year old playing a Madden dynasty being cut the same check as me.

What a pointless non-story.

Does it really matter who is in charge of GM duties at this point in the season? Its not like they can make any substantive changes.

unlikely they are a 1.5 games back and would have to win 2 of next 3 and have the bengals lose out to not get the #1 pick they would still pick 2.

it better be andre smith

if its a QB it will be stafford/bradford. tebow at #1 would be stupid, imo.

Yeah, but...they fired him. I almost crapped myself when I heard Millen might still be in charge, given his performance there.

well it doesn't really matter for this year, though there are certainly small changes they could make. but if indeed is he still calling the shots you really don't think thats a story?
