Yep but fair play to Wiggins killing himself for Cav even it doesn't work put. Martin dropped out on Greipel already. Hope Wiggo smashes him in the time trial.

I mean the group has more people working than the peleton so i think its going to be pretty difficult to pull back, especially with 3 swiss + 3 spaniards etc. Germany+Britain are going to have to work fully together. If it was a normal race with a team of 9 chasing it would obv be different.

They didn't. Everybody else did. GB have done all the work early and are being left to do it at the end. But that's cycling - they were all out for Cav.

As it stands Germany could end up with nothing. If they'd played to their strengths Greipel would have a good chance of a medal and a slight chance of gold. weird.

I'm already missing the constant time difference display of the Tour de France coverage.

No kidding. Waiting every 3km or so for an update is no fun.

It's always the same, watching any other race makes you realize how good the TdF coverage is with the time difference and km to go displays.

That looked bad for Cancellara.

Lol the whole leading group lost their concentration, bunched up, lost time, crash for Cancellara.

If that gap is right then the group has won.

Froome tho? I understand what you mean though. Really seems like Germany could have done something.

I don't know for sure but Froome almost certainly did the majority of the work early on, meaning the other 3 should be slightly fresher going forward. It's fairly standard for it to work that way in a race where you're having to push this hard.

Another lol NBC.

I had assumed they would be airing the race live on TV. Nope. They are 50+ miles from the finish. The live stream is commentary free, so I have no idea where any of the favorites are or who's in the lead group.

Where are you at? I'm watching on NBC in the east and it's live.

Didn't they? I think Martin did a lot of work before he dropped out of the peloton and I've definitely seen Grabsch at the front. It probably was a mistake though to bring Degenkolb and not another guy who can do work in chasing the breakaway.

Martin did some work but it's been about a 4:1 ratio of GB:Germany doing work at the front for basically the entire race. Nobody else has done much of anything at all.

Big group got away, GB tried to pull them back but no one else wanted to help.

No, GB just didn't have enough to pull the peloton back to the leading group and nobody else was willing to do any work at any point.

That sucks, no clue why they brought Sieberg and Degenkolb if they were planning to prepare a sprint for Greipel.
