Nh nh. Just stumbled across a pretty interesting article on power output - http://www.sportsscientists.com/2012...iscussion.html thought some people might find it interesting. For the data analysis just skip the first 10 paragraphs, which is him talking about wiggins press conference.

This is a silly statement. After the TT, another cycling board I'm at blew up with Sky == dopers posts. Thing is, we're not going to know if Sky doped for years. So how does everyone and their mother accusing them of doping raise any interest at all?

What do you guys think, is Cancellara going to pull a Wiggins, ie lose a few kg to develop world class climbing whilst simultaneously becoming better than ever at TT, and challenge for the GC next year? With his daredevil descending, he'd be unstoppable.

Don't forget the swim coach.

Mountain stages can be so awesome, 23 man breakaway with a gap of 7 minutes.
Burghardt, Cummings (beide BMC), Popovych, Voigt (beide RadioShack), Arashiro (Europcar), Martinez (Euskaltel), Sagan (Liquigas), Scarponi (Lampre), Millar, Zabriskia (beide Garmin), Peraud (Ag2r), Jeandesboz (Saur), Horrach (Katusha), L.L. Sanchez (Rabobank), Kroon, Morkov (beide Saxo Bank), Casar, Hutarovich, Ladagnous (alle FDJ), Fofonov, Grivko (beide Astana), Devenyns (Omega Pharma) sowie Gerrans und Goss (Orica)

Interesting break. LL Sanchez looks like the obvious choise for the stage win with his great downhilling skills, but he might get dropped by Scarponi and Peraud uphill.

More interestingly though, 2 BMC riders. Will be interesting to see what Evans has planned.

As I said earlier, today will probably be more entertaining than tomorrow, and it still looks that way. I predict Lotto to go crazy early on the climb with Vanendert and Van den Broeck, and Evans/Nibali will also try something at some point.

More importantly, what happened to the early attacks that they were supposed to happen on this climb. Several teams should be trying something, anything, on a stage like this.

Love to see Devenyns take the stage today, he has had a great season as a Domestique on pretty much all terrain.

As far as attacking, I don't expect anything til the Colombier decent from a GC guy.

Ok, I was wrong. I thought Lotto had the balls to make the all-in attack they really need to do to achieve something. They apparently didn't have the balls and would rather defend Van den Broeck's 9th place than actually take a chance.

I didn't think about this earlier but Nibali is most likely going to Astana next year. It looks like Grivko might do some work for him as a result, if he can.

first day after the rest day is always unpredictable. I expect more attacks tomorrow given the mtn top finish.

The fact that they refuse to wear the yellow helmets means all is forgiven, and it was 6th and 7th ldo.

Many of you read Rough Ride? As a pretty inexperienced cycling fan I thought it was really good.
