Reilly (archly): It seemed like a good bunch of words to write.

What a horrendously written article. Jesus, I can't believe I actually enjoyed reading those back page articles by him in my youth.
+1

I can't believe he was my favorite writer at one time.

I used to love Reilly in high school, now I hate him immesurably. Heh.

It's well documented pretty much the entire '85 Bears roster hated Jim McMahon. Just win the ****ing games and no one cares.

Kinda makes me like Cutler more, tbh.

While I severely dislike Rick Reilly, I enjoyed the article. It's clear that Reilly is a hater, and he definitely doesn't try to hide it. If he were trying to shield this fact, or it wasn't so overt, then it would be a poorly written article.

Rick Reilly is pretty much saying "**** you, you impersonal douche." And for that, I applaud him in taking such a bold stance, rather than just saying, "Jay Cutler has done some questionable things in his career."

I think Cutlahhhhhh is too big of a heel to actually hate, and everyone is coming around to the fact that he's an ornery/emo ballin ass QB who doesn't give a ****. Kind of reminds me of Stone Cold Steve Austin back in late 90's WWF.

Really? Because to me, it sounds like he's saying "**** you for not being 100% transparent with the media and making our jobs more difficult."

BigPoppa is spot on with the above comment, imo.

Most surprising thing I found was that Cutler doesn't have any endorsements at all. ZERO? Not even a local car dealership tie-in? That's shocking to me. Does he do anything with any diabetes awareness organizations? They should be seeking his involvement as their #1 spokesperson.

He was offered a TON of endorsements right after he signed with the bears. But he declined them all saying that he wants to win first and think about ads after.

True, while I didn't really say the media part here, the impersonal part definitely implies that he isn't willing to talk to basically anyone.

He gives $100 per completion and $1000 per touchdown to the ADA, amongst several other things he does with them.

He just doesn't jump up and down screaming "look at me, look at me" about it.

He should do it per sack instead of touchdown imo.
