Lol if you want to see pointing out that he sucked yesterday as using any old excuse to trash him, then let's talk about cognitive dissonance.

nuthuggers to me are people who continue to make any excuse to defend him. I point out that Cutler mostly shat the bed the last 3 games of 2008. I get "no he didn't, receiver dropped the ball". So I actually find the end of that game, show Cutler throwing off his back foot twice, bailing early to pressure, throwing a horrible pick, overthrowing a receiver for an easy TD (back foot), and then the drop in question was really a very tough catch. So of course I get back "lol sample size". That's a nuthugger imo.

What the hell does what some other people said in 2008 have to do with you jumping on the "CUTLER QUIT" bandwagon?

A word of advice to the NFL: come up with something more masculine than the exercise bike to keep players warm, or at least put flaming tailpipes and fake machine guns on the front. Have it make a roaring noise, or have extra seats for cheerleaders built onto it to mitigate the emasculation of a million dollar athlete riding a machine found in any GloboGym. Seeing a pro athlete do this is like watching David Fincher make a movie on an iPhone camera: wrong and disconcerting.

I think he needs to grow up and realize that his image is an integral part of being a leader on and off the field and the whole NFL QB package.
Really?

Until his teammates say anything other than what they're saying, I think this logic can **** off pretty hard and die in a pile of ******ed sports cliches.

Questioning the toughness of a QB in a Martz system is pretty stupid on face value.

Definitely a boon for me. Cutler is dreamy tho, like James Dean w/out the chin

I never said he quit. Ever. I said I thought it was more likely he got pulled for suckiness and they used the injury as an excuse. Please stop mixing me up with other posters or other NFL players on twitter or wherever you're getting that.

The conversation about 2008 happened not too long ago on SE. As usual I got completely blasted for suggesting Cutler wasn't that good, especially under pressure. No one is more vociferously smug and condescending than a nuthugger when Cutler is playing ok. (Or probably a hater when Cutler is sucking )

No, really it's not. It may be integral to fans that gauge QB's based on facial expressions, or in keeping the donkeys in the media off his ass, but it isn't integral in the locker room with the 53 guys by his side.

You don't think any of this mess is affecting his teammates or team morale, in a way that could have a material affect on next season? You think next year when Cutler throws a couple picks at home and the fans go nuts booing him, that won't affect the team at all? The fact is he buys himself absolutely zero brownie points with the fans by his attitude. Which can have a real affect on the team, and therefore isn't very smart imo.

You think it is more likely that the Bears pulled Cutler based on performance in favor of Collins, and then faked MRI results in order to cover it up?

You think this is more likely that Cutler actually having torn his MCL and being taken out due to injury?

Really?

Ronnie Lott thinks you should take your brownie points and join the girl scouts.

Lol yeah, that's exactly what I said. I said I think it's more likely than him quitting and pulling himself, which I thought was silly that people even seemed to be speculating that. Do you understand now?

I don't think either is very likely obviously, but I do think his suckiness could have made the decision a little easier to pull him.

Not sure if this is serious or not, but they are the same thing. 1st degree sprain = partial tear, 2nd degree = significant tear, 3rd degree = complete tear.

A much more plausible version of suzzer's theory is that he was benched because he was hurt. Like the difference in EV between him and his backups is less than the effect of an MCL tear.

From what I can tell so far from the Bears speaking, it is probably going to galvanaize the "us vs world" motivation that they fed on throughout this year.

Yea, I guess the moral of the story here is that QB's should smile smile more out there, otherwise when they have a significant injury, a ton of jealous armchair QB's will set off a twitter induced firestorm in an attempt to assasinate their character.

Except, you know, if they do smile more, and don't get injured, then the same armchair QB's get all riled up saying they are joking around and don't care about losing. (Ask Derek Anderson.)

Actually I didn't know that, thanks. We usually see "MCL tear" or "MCL sprain" and usually when they use "tear" it's because it's serious, and they use "sprain" when it's less serious.

I love Boomer Esiason's defense of Jay Cutler. He attacked Deion Sanders as a guy who didn't like to make tackles, called his avoidance of making them a "business decision". Sanders can STFU.
