James Taylor has been forced to retire with a heart condition.

Damn I spent years advocating him being inserted into the England middle order, he finally gets in and this happens... Damn can't imagine how gutted you would be.

Wow at the James Taylor news. Still, better talking about an unexpected early retirement than an unexpected death. Wish him well with his recovery.

When Travis Head was blocking around, with them needing 14 an over I thought they'd fall short, but Kohli seldom misses the target when he's set and chasing.

It's a pity he's never actually played with a good bowling lineup that supports him both for club and country, but maybe that's whats helped mould him into a fantastic chaser.

RIP Tony Cozier

Passed away at 75, loved his voice I remember being extremely surprised he wasnt black when I first saw him

Gg, glad he got to see WI win the T20 world cup

He was very passionate about the windies and it really seemed to break his heart the teams struggles over the last years

Yes RIP Tony Cozier. I enjoyed reading most of his articles on ESPNCricinfo. Quite fitting and a good way to go seeing the West Indies on top of the world for the most version of a world cup for cricket with their T20 win.

Boycott has just accused a batsman (Nick Compton) of being too defensive for test matches.

Starting a May test match at Headingly on a Thursday is just stupid. A 2-2.5 day test match is always on the cards, even with rain interruptions.

These days test matches rarely seem to go into day 5 regardless of conditions. Like recent India/SA series.

Think only one of the tests from the latest Ashes series got to day 5 too.

It's not like it's impossible to bat on this pitch. England showed that. I don't have a problem with that aspect of the scheduling.

What bugs me about the scheduling for this summer is the lack of consideration for the North. Putting Headingley and Durham back to back at the start of the season is really stupid and irritating. Crowds will certainly be down because a) a day out at the cricket is more appealing when the weather is better and b) the catchment for Headingley and Durham overlaps and not many will go to both.

Would have made sense to host an early one in Durham and a later one in Headingley IMO. Headingley is now bigger than Trent Bridge and I'm sure tickets would sell pretty well at the height of summer.
