johnson, siddle, ponting, haddin all have done something in this match.
Yeah it's so wierd...Johnson scored like 80 odd in the match without being out I think, you have to say his batting is useful with their tail so he may be given a few more chances.

OMFG though, that was exiting just following on cricinfo at work. You have to give huge credit to Oz after the first match. I'm just pissed off I didn't record it (and watch as live later) as it was raining in the morning. Godammit.

Yesterday was so good. Was pleading for Cummins to be given out lbw for even more epicness.

Meanwhile in India, WI off to a good start shocker

267/2

Barath 62
Braithwaite 68
Edwards 65*
D Bravo 57*

Does Mumbai have a history of draws?
Sachin with a huge chance of getting his 100th 100 here.

A bit gutted I missed another memorable Test, but wp Aussies for chasing that total down. Still think it should be gg Ponting, despite his 60-odd in the 2nd innings, although I confess I don't know if there's anyone waiting to replace him.

Not an excessive number of draws, and last one was back in 1997; Sachin did get a ton in that one though

from statsguru, 6 draws out of 21 matches

Uncharacteristically solid start by Windies though.

Windies are on a roll now before lunch, Bravo about to get his ton. India have to hope that the next two wickets cause a collapse, and come quickly.

Edit: Gets it, his 3rd Test century for the 22 yo.

Pakistan beat SL earlier, good to see them turning a corner...

Spoiler:
They also had 23 dot balls in a powerplay.

They didn't lose any wickets during it either.

I'm sure its nothing, just 23 self explanatory dot balls during a powerplay when chasing a total in a ODI

Is Darren Bravo the new Brian Lara?

I'm not saying he's going to get a video game named after him or anything but by the time he's in his 30s (he's 22 now) he'll have a stack of runs.

Hmm, stayed up late enough donking around on the tables, and Sachin is in the 70s now, so might as well stay up a little longer and watch to see if he can finally close out this infernal 100th hundred and get back on with his life.

Given the match situation though, it'll be an utterly meaningless ton if he gets there. Hard to see how someone as good as him will actually get much joy out of something which, for him, is probably only marginally more taxing than breathing in and out. This is an absolutely terrible pitch, with Sehwag's impetuous 37 the lowest score by a proper batsman from either side, most of whom were bored out instead of got out; in fact, he's the only one on either side (so far) not to make at least a half-century. ICC really need to do something about crappy pitches like this though, introducing some kind of meaningful penalty upon the home authority for producing such dreadful tracks; as good as Sachin is, they are at least part of the reason he's made this many tons in the first place, as have many others around the world, in a game where easy runs have become the norm, and genuinely gripping contests between bat and ball are becoming fewer and further between.

EDIT: ok, just realised Laxman got out early for 32, and Kohli is now batting, making Laxman's 32 the lowest top order knock of the match. Still ridiculous. And Sachin's quickly moved straight through the 80s and into the 90s with 14 off an over from Fidel Edwards - nearly there!

Good that he didn't get it in this meaningless match against this weak team when the series is already decided. I hope he gets it against aus in a winning effort

yup I agree. Ton here would have been meaningless..

Ashwin putting the nails in Bhajji's coffin with this innings..

The only reason Bhajan survivied in the Indian team for the past two years was his "batting prowess". Which is lol, but I'm glad that it wont come into consideration anymore.

100!. wp Ashwin, 5 wkts too...

lol. I don't think Sachin getting his 100th 100 at his home ground would have been 'meaningless'.

The first time I saw Ashwin play I thought he could make it as a good spinner.

Had no idea he could bat as well

We have 5 out for the first test against the Kiwis next week, if NZ cant beat us this series then they should just give it away imo.

Tendulker needs to retire on 99 hundreds kind of like Bradman averaging 99 imo.

haha, yeah, I remember that, when they just totally collapsed and lost their last seven for like 20 runs or something and lost by an innings and a handful of runs. Was still a great day of cricket though, and I was there too

An investigation has begun into some betting irregularies in respect to Tendulkar being dismissed in the 90's.

Wow, Windies absolutely imploding here.

They've somehow lost four wickets in 21 balls and five in the first hour of play on day 5. Only three wickets left, and no proper batsmen, and their lead is only 229. India suddenly but surely making themselves decent favourites with the damage they've done in the last fifteen minutes or so, because given their history, I can really see the Windies tail just giving up here.

lol WI. Gonna lose the match after scoring 590 in first innings.

Bleh, almost put money on India winning after WI made 500+ in the first innings just cz WI ghana WI. Was getting 14:1 IIRC.
