I'm doing willow.tv too. Was hoping there wasn't a cheaper way that I missed. Asked Cox and they said they didn't have a way to order it.

There are some sites selling the whole WC for ~$30 but I'm fairly certain they are illegal sites

India is a decent favorite on betfair @ 1.6, which is a fair line imo..

We've beaten the defending champs and the only other team to beat them and the other finalists(Pak) to get here, while SL has beaten NZ twice and England (albeit comfortably).

They have a long tail which as far as I'm concerned starts at number 5 specially if Mathews is injured. It reminds me of the Indian team of a decade ago which had Sachin and Sourav at the top and Dravid in the middle but not much else. They looked really good when one of the big guns fired but were horrible chasers under pressure since you need a good lower middle order finisher to chase big totals and they don't have one. This was really exposed in thier game against Pakistan..

There have also been comments about how SL bowling is as good as Pak's which I don't agree with at all. They have 2 v good bowlers in Malinga and Murali which are very similar to our 2 main strike bowlers. Malinga and Zaheer are both very good with the old ball and not so dangerous with a new one (though I'd give a slight edge to SL on this matchup). Thier backup bowling of Kulasekra, Mathews and Mendis doesn't look very potent at all, much like ours..

Here's Mendis' career stats vs India, look at the first 6 innings compared to the last 6.

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/eng...ing;view=match

Overall I'd think the toss is going to be much more important for SL since if we bat first and make 300+ I don't see them chasing it down..

I hope we play Pathan instead of Kohli, he'll fancy the SL spinners on a smallish ground and add bowling options for us, Raina is in decent form and can bat at number 4.

This analysis is obviously biased , but I really think we have a decent edge in this matchup and have undoubtedly had the toughest route to the finals.

Is there any place that allows you to bet on who will be the man of the series?. Yuvraj has to be a lock at this point..

Mathews ruled out. Huge blow for us, this really sucks. I wish Kausal Silva or Chandimal were on the WC squad. Both are >> Silva and Samaraweera as ODI batsmen.

Just watched the highlights of the SL v ENG Quarters. Unreal, double century to beat em by 10 wickets! Is England bowling that bad or does India have to worry about something similar?

That Angelo Mathews, an all-rounder for Sri Lanka, is not going to play in the match due to an injury which might be a problem for SL because he has been effective allowing them to play 3 spin bowlers.

Eng. bowling is very ordinary but the pitch was a good one for the batsmen. SL's openers are very good and hugely important to their team. I'm sure they would love to recreate that performance, but in the WC final vs. India at home, it is unlikely that will be the case.

Pretty sure the fact that England had lost a good chunk of their first choice XI to injury, and that most of the rest were pretty knackered after five months on the road, played a significant role in our entire showing at the World Cup.

That said, think I'd like to see Sri Lanka win this today. Hope it's a good match.

I think both sides will lose an early wicket today. Law of averages or whatever..

How about instead of having a toss, you have an auction, and whoever bids the highest number of runs gets to decide who bats first, but must chase that number of extra runs/defend fewer runs. This would negate the importance of the toss to <1 run. Good idea?

Time for the toss, I dont really mind if we bat 2nd tbh.

Please India no batting collapse..

SL playing an extra bowler, so thier tail is even longer.

Luckily for them they aren't chasing.
