Left handedness is a thing as well.

Conor being white is probably something, as there are probably some extra ethnic pride dollars going in on Conor.

Finally, not many want to lay 400+ to win 100.

There's more entertainment in this thread than there will be in the actual fight. Carry on.

How much do we bet? Seriously. I dunno if I can take having thousands on a single outcome mentally though. I don't have the stones. But yet my logical brain is telling me I'm a moron not to do it.

Bet the most you can afford to lose, both financially and emotionally. It's that simple.

Financially is probably a lot more than emotional for me since I never bet more than a few hundo.

Conor's next move will be whatever makes him the most money. Simple as that. Whether that's boxing Paulie, fighting Khabib(doubt it) , making movies, or whatever else.

And why would books care to balance by moving the line lower on Floyd? Just take way the best of it rather than open yourself up to high roller Mayweather action that you think is likely +++++EV.

So as Jim Mora once said "What the hell is goin on out here!"
of course it doesnt. But the books still stand to lose massively if Conor wins and win massively if Floyd wins. Every single book wants to be on Floyd, but they don't want a Conor win to wipe out a whole year's worth of profits on everything else.

Yeah the books are happy to have a big bet on Floyd but at some point they're going to be uncomfortable with the amount they're betting on Floyd and will want to lay some off. And then it's a game of chicken, if other books move their line to get more bets on Floyd and one book doesn't they become the book everyone will bet on Connor and no one will bet on Floyd. So they kind of have to move the line once other books do unless they're willing to yolo it up.

For all the action on this, it isn't the superbowl, I doubt a Conor win wipes anything significant out.

And I'm not even sure there is that much more overall $ on CM than there is on Floyd. Seems unlikely with all the huge high roller action on Floyd.

Bovada said they expect this to be their largest single wagering event ever. I know other books in Vegas expect it to at least rival the Super Bowl.

There are also multiple 6 figure tickets on Conor. If someone bets 100k at +500 thats a 500k liability whereas a 500k liability on Floyd at -500 requires a $2.5mm bet.

I just can't really get my head around to the books offering an awful line that they know will open themselves up to taking massive volume that is +EV for the player in Floyd at -400.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what will happen the final week as people descend upon vegas? I'm sure CM fans will outnumber Floyd fans like 9-1 and many of them will likely throw a sweat bet on CM. Could the line go even lower?

Or will a ton of final week big $ come in on Floyd?

all the really big money that will be on Floyd already lives in Vegas or has a way to wager over the phone if they'd like to. Its not like the people betting 6 figures won't have access to the market until showing up in a week.

Floyd is trying to push his odds up as much as possible. Pretty sure he leaked fake info that he was ko'd in sparring.
He will probably bet his entire purse on himself.

After explaining to my friend how Floyd going off at basically 1/4 is the biggest non risk free money train of all times, he comes back with....

"But yea it'd be much better to win with Conor at 4/1."

These are the types of dumbasses betting on Conor every minute.

I might understand people from the USA, but why would you bet a lot of money on Floyd @ 1.25, knowing there is a non-zero probability the fight is rigged, Conor might get lucky and the football season just started? You have 10 months on football every weekend, you can get way better odds betting on 3-4 matches that will end 5-0 for the favorites throughout the whole season. You can get 1.60 on Barca and RM to beat Betis and Depor this weekend.

Because Floyd should be 1.01 and he isn't. Betting is also about value.

First I doubt you can find 1.60 for Real or Barca this weekend. I found 1.17 for Barca and 1.30 for Real and secondly this match is one of the best boxers of all time boxing against someone with zero professional boxing fights. It would be foolish not to bet on Floyd with 1.25 odds when the odds should be much lower. Yeah anything can happen and Floyd can lose but it is very, very unlikely.
