The only good thing about this game is that somehow USA got the win, and they have a few games to figure things out. Two more group stage games and then a game against some lolthirdplace before we have to play Costa Rica in the semi-final.

Dempsy was a 10 on balls played with his head, but more like a 6 at best on balls played by his feet. I hate when he starts getting all grumpy with the ref. Gets too caught up with not getting the calls he wants and starts going down every time he's touched, just daring the ref not to whistle it. You're better than that Clint, just fight through it!

Brooks wasn't bad when you consider Honduras had something like 21 corners that he headed away. What are the rules regarding yellow cards being reset for this tournament?

Could have used the steady play of Besler to settle the back four.

Bradley to Dempsy on free kicks was obviously productive, but it just seems like something is off in playing Beckerman, Bradley, Clint, Jozy up the middle. Shouldn't that group be creating more chances?

Why not try inserting Mix in at attacking mid and drop Bradley back into DM where he can pick and choose his runs? Or get really creative and move Zardes to F when taking out Jozy and bring on another wing?

Still early in the tournament though, and good to get the three points. As usual, USA in the toughest group, but whatever. We should still be good enough to get nine points unless after beating Hati JK decides to rest players or get creative vs Panama. Not sure which group is more LOL, B or C.

JK is pretty against playing both Besler and Brooks at the same time which is kind of annoying. It needs to be tried imo. I think we'll see Brooks/Omar for Haiti and call in Besler after the group stages. Not sure if he will supplant Brooks or not though, kinda doubt it.

Agree with Ikes there. Variance shines on you in a few friendlies and suddenly people think we should dominate a match against a team that made the last two WCs who consistently has given us problems. Sign of progress.

I think saying things like Honduras is "a world cup team!" overstates them. Namely, all games are in 'Mericah, which is a big edge for us, and other than that... CONCACAF is us, Mexico, and Costa Rica. Let's be honest, those 3 teams are legit good, then there's a gap between whomever else.

Yes, Honduras may be (probably is) the next team in the pecking order, but it just means they are the tallest midget of the remaining squads. We *should* beat them. We *should expect* to beat them.

The only 2 games I wont have these exact same expectations are Costa Rica and Mexico. (Well, I will expect him, but I understand nothing is given there!)

Panama may be better than Honduras, as well. They were a minute or so from qualifying ahead of Mexico!

Honduras was legit decent last year before injuries got them. But yes we should expect to beat all these teams IMO.

Mexico didn't even beat Honduras in qualifying. They tied once and lost to them in Mexico. They tied Honduras in a friendly last week and haven't won a game in Honduras since 1993. Honduras also beat us and Costa Rica in qualifying and only finished 3 points behind Costa Rica. In 2010 Honduras finished ahead of Costa Rica and qualified for the World Cup while Costa Rica didn't. Panama btw has never made a World Cup.

Honduras has usually been very competitive in games against the USA, Mexico and Costa Rica. I'm not sure how good they are now but it should never be a surprise when they put up a decent fight against anybody in CONCACAF.

Also Honduras gets a lot of support in the USA. For a country that has a small population they sure do get a lot of support when they play in the US.
