Well... here we are, already at week 2 after the GOAT week 1. This week definitely doesn't have the great matchups of week 1, but hey, it's still football dammit! It's usually when we overlook silly matchups is when the craziest **** happens.

But, first a recap...

Last week we witnessed LSU blow a game against Wisconsin at Lambeau. This cheap shot also happened and the offender was suspended just 1 game against Jacksonville St. What a punishment! (I, of all people will never overlook Jax St. though)



Lamar Jackson of Louisville went ham for a billion touchdowns. Albeit, against lowly Charlotte. I believe he will be a Heisman candidate by the end of the year. This guy is legit.



Auburn played musical quarterbacks against Clemson and predictably lost. They actually played a closer game than most thought they would and actually had a chance at the end due to a braindead Dabo Sweeney. Auburn's playbook has since been leaked...



A USC player stomped on a Bama player than Bama proceeded to stomp USC by hanging 52 points on them.



Oh yeh, Mississippi St. lost to a team in Alabama not named Auburn or Alabama. Dan Mullen's seat just got a little hotter.



A kick six happened in the Houston OU game. Apparently OU didn't even know the dude was back there to possibly receive a missed FG.



FSU was looking to get blown out against Ole Mi$$ last night but do what they always do in the second half and thats come back to make it a game and win it.




And Texas beat Notre Dame in the best game of the weekend. Is Texas back? Only time will tell... Swoops is a MAN btw.

The game I'm mostly looking forward to this week is Virginia Tech vs Tennessee which is being called the Battle Of Bristol. Will be played at Bristol Motor Speedway at 8pm Saturday night. It surely will be one of the most unique experiences ever for a football game. Although some of those seats look like they are miles away.




Biggest collection of boozed up fans? Yeh, probably.

How many weekly slates would be worse if we randomly shuffled all teams 10 million times? This is .0001 percentile. These weeks delivered last year though, so hopefully that continues.

I know noone cares but it's crazy how much one......mildly(?) positive result can do to a fanbase/program. UMass fanbase has been problematically apathetic for the three years we've been FBS (aside from trips to UMich and Notre Dame which alums made fun trips for themselves). Hang with Florida on TV for three quarters and all the sudden we're (reportedly) selling out student buses to Gillette for the BC game. But for real, I hate the sec as much as anybody, but instead of bashing them how about giving them credit for actually growing some balls and playing a big part in making last week the greatest opening weekend in CFB history? Teams like Baylor, whose toughest nonconference game is against Rice, should be the ones getting bashed.

Michigan is .500 against the SEC in BCS bowl games, and the "wins" in regular season games that they needed to get to 13-7 include two against vandy and one each against Tulane and Ga Tech. Pretty intimidating there, boys.
