I know a lot of people who are neutrals and will be watching the game and plenty who won't just their choice I suppose.

The game will be really good if we go out then just full attack and play the way we know we can and I am sure we will be just too much for Chelski, but if we don't go out and play safe (defend) like last years FA cup final or the game a few weeks ago Chelski might nick it with their boring game.

I've just put £10 on us to win it 2-1 at 9/1.

Commentator said "nobody will ever win a european cup final more dramatically than this" hehe.

I was actually pulling for Manu in that final. Really torn this year. Chelsea hate might prove to be stronger in the end. Just would hate it if Abramovich gets the pleasure.

I can understand the hate for the owner that has bought everything but whats so bad about being the richest club in the world?

The man was an utter legend in general too. One club his whole career, he kept them up practically by himself every year. He was also not the most gifted athlete of all time to say the least which just makes his skills even more remarkable.
He was so good that I remember the day he missed, the BBC made it their lead sport story in the news. Funny, the little things you remember.

Know the clip like the back of my hand.

I can't find the semi final clip though. After we won the second leg away I had that feeling that we'd win it, also seen as we had completely the 2 stages.

To come back from behind and win it with 2 mins left also it was for Real Treble.

***

I really hope we can win it this year, get it to 17-18 and 3-5....Not far behind now are we.

Thanks for explaining why. I guess I should care more since its two mega teams playing

I'll record the game, and maybe I'll watch it. But I am not really excited for it. I bet Chelsea fans are pretty pumped for it.

I mean seriously, to me this is like watching two rich kids from your school drag race each other in $200,000 sports cars.

Regardless of what people think of the teams, and I am by no means a fan of either, I am looking forward to a good competitive match. I would love to see a 2-1 or a 3-2 type of match. I have no preference for a winner but nobody can deny these are two great footballing teams and this should be one hell of a match.

It really depends on how the teams decide to play. Last years FA cup sucked.

heh, they talked about this on PTI today.

Kornheiser is a clown.

"The champions league is all the best leagues in Europe, and this is like the Sox vs the Yankees. Plus, and I am going to mess this name up, Christiano Ronaldo, who puts the man in Man U"

At least Wilbon likes soccer. He said he wished he had become a soccer beat writer.

Sampdoria was one of my favorite teams at that time and I just remember KNOWING that as soon as the ref gave Barca, who I hated anyway because I was a Real fan, that weak ass **** freekick that Koeman would score and it would be over.

It was actually players like Koeman I think who really made teams care about setting up the wall properly. Often back then it was just a joke and done with very little eye to detail.

Regarding finals. I don't think I've missed anyone either. At least not since I started caring about football from a very young age.
My earliest memory I think was Porto getting a late winner against big favorites Bayern in 87.
The 1988 final I remember nothing from though, so not impossible I missed that.
Only reading about it in the annual football books I got each christmas.

1986 I wish I had seen because this was the great Steua Bucharest team which was basically the very good Romanian national team for years to come. Full of great talent and they made it to the final again in 89.
That was the time where countries from behind the iron carpet could make some great teams by just loading up all the best players from their country on one single team. Whoever the government liked the most.
I guess the last example of this, though only somewhat, was Red Star Belgrade beating Marseille in 91.
I remember that final as very boring but Red Star had some amazing talent soon to be sold to major teams around Europe.

The late 80s and early 90s Milan, I remember as the most dominant team I've seen in Europe.
With the three dutch superstars and future italian legends in defence they just seemed invincible.
Nothing really has come close to that since
I especially remember how they humiliated my favorites Real Madrid in the earlier rounds.

Marcello Lippi's Juventus played probably the closest to perfection I've seen and were actually better the year they didn't win the title, with Zidane, but lost to Dortmund in the final.
They should have had won more than one title.

But absolute highlight final with the most buildup and anticipation was the 1994 final between Barcelona and Milan.
They had dominated their respective leagues.
It was La Liga against Serie A.
They had both won the cup in recent years and there were just no doubt in anyone's mind that these were the two best teams in the world facing eachother to find out who were the greatest.

It was also complete opposite styles clashing.
Almost ideologies clashing. Because that was what Cruyff the coach was. He looked down on defending where Capello in Milan of course was his total opposite.

Tomorrow's final I think has a bit of that which I think makes it very interesting.
It is two different styles clashing and each team is the best at their particular style.
There is also little doubt that it truly are the two best teams in final which is far from always the case.

Now if Man U tomorrow would care as little about defending as Barca did in that game then, there is a good chance Chelsea would hand out a similar beating as the one Milan gave Barcelona, but of course that's unlikely.
United are a good defending team with a disciplined approach, especially in Europe, and I don't think they will take too many risks and neither will Chelsea.

It should be a close game. 1-1 or 1-0 which btw shouldn't be confused with boring.
Everything will be at the very highest level and that I think is always great entertainment.

I really think it's the best final on paper and similar in many ways to the Juventus - Milan final at Old Trafford. Just that it's english teams this time.
Last years final was interesting because of the recent history between the two teams but it wasn't the best teams. No way. In fact Milan were better the final they lost.

This final is between two truly great teams and it's must see!

Can't wait.

Just another example of the ott hype, and inflated opinion held in regards to the quality and standard of the EPL.

Funnily enough, Larsson was far better in Europe for Celtic, than Ronaldo has so far been for Utd.
Larsson also did well at barca when he wasn't inujured. He certainly deserves better in the annals of history

god, I hope its not like the final between Juve and Milan at OT. That one was an utter snooze fest with both sides utterly unwilling to take a risk when it should've been beautiful passing football with quality chances

granted as a united fan, I hope we end up on the winning side regardless of how entertaining or boring it is, but I certainly want to see us go with our more swashbuckling style rather then the cautious style

One day Alex Ferguson is visiting Emirates Stadium.
Arsene Wenger tells him that foreign footballers are more intelligent than home grown "I dont think so " says Alex Ferguson.
Arsene Wenger calls Phillipe Senderos over "Your fathers son is not your brother who is he?" "Oh thats easy boss it's me" says Senderos.

Next day Alex Ferguson calls Wayne Rooney in and asks
"Tell me son your fathers son is not your brother who is he"? Rooney thinks and says" Can I think about it boss and come back to you?" Ferguson agrees.
That night he asks his fiance Coleen McLoughlin the same question "I am not sure" she says "Call Patrice Evra he'll know". Rooney phones Evra and asks the question Evra replies "Thats easy say its me"

Next day Wayne Rooney runs to the the boss giggling "I've worked it out he says its Patrice Evra"
"I am so ashamed I signed you" says Ferguson dissapointed that his star player couldn't work out this simple riddle.
Wayne Rooney also dissapointed with himself asks "What is it then boss?" Ferguson shaking his head answers "It's Phillipe Senderos!".

...As a matter of fact no, come to think of it, that would actually be quite entertaining.
