Thought we should get one thread before this gets out of hand.

Chris Peterson(Boise) to MissSU, seems pretty legit from the sources I'm reading. That seems like career suicide...but a sick hire for MSU if true.

Mike Leach to Auburn, def more rumor than substance at this point.

What?!? Chris Peterson is going to Mississippi State? Really stupid decision by him IMO.

Also, huge LOL if Nutt goes to Auburn. The SEC isn't my conference of expertise or anything but I've always thought he's a pretty good coach and never understood the hate he got at Arkansas. Anyone care to explain it to me?

Nutt is probably the most underrated coach in the country IMO, but he's not coming to Auburn. He'll get a raise at Ole Miss out of it. Leach contacted Auburn but is not being considered according to the Bham News.

Rumor is that Peterson has connections (old buddies?) with someone in charge at MSU, maybe the A.D...not sure.

I agree with you, but here is what I have gathered fromthe various boards: Peterson was waiting for the Oregon job, but one of the coordinators Kelly is now getting the job when Bellotti retires. Peterson has ties to some of the Administrators at MSU and that is the connection. From what I was just reading, I don't think this is a done deal by any means.

Meanwhile, Auburn has now been turned down by Nutt, Petrino, Leach, Kelly, and Muschamp. They have hired the same search firm that we used last year that recommended Tommy Bowden. Good luck with that.

Danny Barrett, the OC for Buffallo Bulls prolly going back to the CFL too, so they could get raided this winter.

Chris Peterson just seems like a perfect fit at Oregon, and he can legitimately win there. Is Cal going to ever sack Tedford? Peterson feels like a Pac10 coach in waiting to me, not an SEC guy.

No cal is not going to fire tedford. They were 0-11 and awful before he got there and he's made them a Pac-10 contender, he beat tenn, etc.

Next year Cal is going to be very good.
