What do NW fans think of Dave Sobolewski, and UW fans of Frank Kaminsky? What kind of role will those two have next year?

Western Michigan wasn't supposed to be good I thought, though they just played Xavier very tough (tougher than we did in the NCAAs last year sadly) so who knows. UIC is often not terrible (and they have one of my favorite players now, Gophs transfer Paul Carter) but there's no reason to think they won't stink this year as well. Oakland is definitely the class of the Summit but that's a pretty weak conference in general, definitely on the lower half of the non-BCS conferences. I guess that's what I meant, but I probably exaggerated a little bit.

And holy **** Iowa lost by 10 points to SDSU.

This means next to nothing, but aorn the BT is KenPom's highest-ranked conference.

He appears to be dramatically overrating Penn State and Iowa

They've got some talented freshmen who didnt play tonight...tOSU's non-conference schedule from now on is basically a total joke, plenty of time for those guys to get some minutes and develop so they should be deeper come Big Ten season

really? i think they're deeper than they were last year, they look have a true point guard in Craft instead of the "let the best player handle the ball 75% of the time" offense they ran last year. Thomas is getting good minutes off the bench and Sibert should be a contributor as the year goes on, same with weatherspoon...

ok so maybe they're not that deep, but I think the quality of depth is much better considering last year their 6th man was kyle madsen or jeremie simmons/pj hill. They didn't show any depth tonight but Lighty, Buford, and Diebler are all used to putting up 35+ minutes from last year. I think as the season goes on their depth will be noticeably better than last year.

Yeah Sullinger is gonna be a huge pain the ass. I believe you Loretta but it still seems crazy to me that they'd only use 7 guys. Not that it takes anything away from how really, really good they are.

I guess I didn't notice how few minutes the reserves got, used to seeing lighty/bufurd/diebler on the court all game from last year. I am surprised Thomas didn't get more minutes, he looked really good in the opener. though with this being really early in the season and a big game I guess i'm not surprised Matta went with a shallow bench, especially since all the starters were playing pretty well. We probably won't see how deep this team is going to play until January, probably.

Shallow bench today is not the team that will be around in March. This team is deep deep deep. Almost too deep where people won't get enough minutes. I was a bit worried early on, but what an asskicking that game became. Hope that Florida is actually a good team and not just a pretender, cause that game was huge.

For the depth, in the first game against NC A&T, 9 players got more than 10 minutes, another guy got 5. 6 players scored double figures, 2 more had 8 and 9 respectively. It's all about matchups and who you are playing.

Loved seeing Florida get burned on the full court press time and time again.

Sullinger - 2 games, 2 double-doubles. What a beast.

First MSU game I have watched this year.

Team looks amazingly fit. Usual suspects look good (Lucas, Green, Luscious, Summers) also Roe looks really healthy and should be an absolute beast this year. Sherman and Nix still look pretty meh(although nix looks he crapped out a kalin lucas).

If this team stays healthy they are going to be nasty. Especially if Payne and appling develop.

Sullinger=ridiculous

IU is so much more athletic this year... and I have a hard time believing there are 50 better frosh in the country than Victor Oladipo who was ranked in the 140s by both services I believe... wish michelle would get cleared... ncaa loves to draw stuff out.

What are their chances at snagging Michael Chandler after he decommitted from Xavier, and Zeller committed to IU?

chandler is begging crean to offer him calling him up constantly and calling zeller/etherington... he is a headcase and may not even qualify, IU wants no part of him and doesnt have a schollie for him anyhow....

or oh are you talking about him going to nwestern? that would be impressive if he got into northwestern.
