Where is the NCAA Hoops 2010-11 thread? I want both!

I am getting old....

When I was going to ISU, I worked at a local pizza place called Great Plains Sauce & Dough company (best pizza ever). Every Friday, the high school boys basketball team would come in for lunch before games. Among those guys was the current head coach of the Cyclones - Fred Hoiberg.

I hope he turns out to be a great coach. ISU won't have to worry about him leaving for another job.

Of course I thought the same thing about Cael Sanderson.....

This is the first and probably last time I will post in this thread.

Our best player is a 6'3 white kid from a town who played my HS and is a below average bball player.

I am loving ESPN 3 on XBox. Watching Iowa State beat up on Alabama State right now. ISU has a couple of players but I think they'll struggle when it gets to conference play.

My nomination for the All-Name team: Alabama State's Ivory White.

Tyshawn Taylor, Tyrel Reed, and Travis Releford appear to have bulked up. Releford reminds me of Brandon Rush with his double wrist bands at the wrist and the way he moves. But boy is his three point shot ugly.

Nebraska in a close one with Vandy right now on ESPNU. They're working the offense but still have a hard time getting a decent shot off. I don't think this team has a consistent 3-point shooter to help spread the court for the big guys inside.

Doc is going to have to show a lot of improvement over last year or he's going to be on the hot seat. I think he's a good coach, but this is the year to see if his recruits are going to be able to play.

Iowa State is 3-0 after a 91-43 win over Drake last night - largest margin of victory in 170 meetings between the two teams.

finally my tigers play tonight...was lookin at the kenpom rankings and mizzou and arkansas are the only top 100 teams who haven't played a game yet it looks like...im fiendin

I think Robinson will eventually be a beast too....but just not this year. I expect a Taylor-esque sophomore year from him....underwhelming and at times frustrating...but I hope I'm wrong.

yea they looked awful , first time winning with no players in double figures in 50+ years. not a good start, but pretty tough to call it a sign of things to come until it becomes a pattern. Only one senior on this team and its a pretty proven team plus mike anderson teams get better as the season goes on and the players get used to the 40 minutes of hell

i think with getting more playing time this year will be a big factor in becoming a beast. with cole gone trob has to have a big year.

My attitude is better to barely win in your first game against WIllinois in November when you are still building the team than to barely win in the NCAA tournament against NIowa....oh wait.

big 12 bball will be sick good for however many years to come in bball w/out colorado/nebraska holding us down. I really want to go to allen field house west this year to send them off well
