don't really see why the ohio won't run the ball at least as effectively as nebraska did. nebraska with a bunch of 2nd stringers at OL and a QB who isn't much of a running threat ran for 5 yards a pop this year. Last year, Martinez ran for 200 yds against them. Sparty D is good, but they haven't exactly played a murderer's row of offenses, and I feel confident Urbs will do some things schematically to neutralize what sparty likes to do.

I'm thinking Winston is not in trouble, I mean why would you have a press conf, and WAIT to arrest him. That doesn't sound like something law enforcement does.

Can Duke really beat FSU? Why is this becoming such a popular analysis lately?

Who in the world is saying Duke can beat fsu

Not sure. FSU will beat us by at least 4 touchdowns. Our defense will not be able to stop them.

I don't know any Duke fans that think that we will beat FSU. Few even think its a remote possibility. Yes, Duke has football fans and for the past month or so people have actually cared far more about football than basketball. It has shocked me how many people have shrugged off the basketball losses because "it is still football season" when I was pretty much the only person I knew who felt that way when I was in school. TONS of people I know have preordered bowl tickets and are excited to travel to wherever the bowl game is.

Cool. Good for them. They should be excited for something other than basketball. Hopefully some of them show up to the acc title game and we don't see something like this, lol

well, ACC title game will have some support from local fanbase, but most of the younger alumni that I know of (don't have good insight into older generations) doesn't have the flexibility to make two trips in 3 weeks or would have to make a weekend turnaround in Charlotte so I know a lot of people are passing on the ACC Title game in favor of the bowl. I know I am making that decision.

All conferences besides the SEC and maybe the Big Ten should just go with the PAC model of giving home field to one of the teams playing in the title game.

Big Ten works well because it's not that unruly of travel to get to Indy, plus it's cold as hell in that part of the country, play the game indoors.

It's like 9.5 hours from Lincoln, 9 from Minneapolis, and less from anywhere else, so no big deal on getting there. Rutgers will be 10.5, but LOLRutgers being in the title game being in Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, and Ohio State's division.

Pac-12 has an insane distance from any location they pick from a lot of schools. ACC as well.

If Las Vegas had a decent stadium then that'd be the obvious permanent home of the PAC title game but it doesn't and I don't think a 45kish sized stadium is appropriate. Then again some of the PAC powers like Oregon only have like 55k seats in their home stadiums.

The ACC just needs to give up the charade of a neutral site game and play on campus, it's just never going to work.

OSU vs FSU! Let's Go Buckeyes. No way Mizzou or Auburn should go if OSU is undefeated.

Also just to be an a**... Who has FSU beaten? An overrated Clemson team? A 4 win Florida team? A bad Miami team? Obv FSU is a lock but if Oregon was undefeated I would think Oregon vs OSU would be the chamionship

Isn't UNLV building some
kind of crazy stadium? Or was that just a rumor?

Just so I'm understanding people's rationales for why they think OSU isn't in the same class as Auburn/Mizzou/etc: Elite coach with multiple titles in the SEC goes to powerhouse B1G team. Team proceeds to go 24-0, and now has one of the top offenses in the country, along with elite players at many positions. Because the school lost two of the three title games it played in under the previous nit coach, people still pigeonhole it as a crappy, slow team.

This isn't Tresselball, this is a team with one of the best coaches and staffs in the country, who has gone 24-0 since being hired. People are saying this isn't one of the top 2 teams in the country? OSU is #3 in PPG this year, this isn't even close to the same type of teams Tressel had in the 2000s. I think Vegas is accurately reflecting that by the fact that they have OSU favored vs. both Auburn and Mizzou. This whole "OSU is overrated and would get blown out by an SEC team" is a fun narrative for people, but completely baseless.

These two sentences one after another is just LOL

Really? Well, who has OSU beaten? At least FSU has beaten a top 15 team in the last two years. Same with Mizzou and Auburn. Auburn just beat the #1 team in the country if you haven't heard. Can OSU say that? Name the last time OSU beat a team that was still ranked at the end of the year.

How fun to goalpost shift in back to back sentences. Your point will be moot either way after this week, because OSU will have either beaten MSU or Auburn/Mizzou will be in the title game.

If Sparty loses to tOSU and then they get mauled in their bowl game like they probably will then Sparty won't be ranked at the end of the year.

You know what I meant. FSU, Auburn, and Mizzou have beaten top ranked teams recently. OSU...not so much.

One of the downsides to beating teams is it tends to hurt their rankings. You're saying they will "probably" finish the year unranked if they lose to OSU, so just for fun I'll offer 1:1 odds on $250 that if MSU loses, they finish the year ranked in the final AP poll.
