Good. I don't know if his stats justify it but he was obviously a "hall of famer" kind of guy when playing. Really was the precursor to the modern offensive SS studs like ARod and Jeter.

And LOL at McGwire not getting in again. Next year's gonna be the biggest joke ever.

Some dude named Bert Blevin got in last year. THis isn't a stretch really. Lol baseball. Lol HOF voters

God...next year's ballot is gonna be hellish to hear about. McGwire, Palmiero, Bonds, Clemens, and Sosa.

I don't know if that helps Piazza or hurts him. But next year's is definitely the one that many people have been looking towards.

Also, congrats to Larkin. Got a much greater appreciation of him after the Baseball draft done last year. Really a great player. Though his ESPN work was eh...

Yup, which is awesome because I don't need to bother looking. But he was a no doubt hall of famer from a casualfan perspective during that era.

I assume Piazza is a lock.

Congrats to Barry, I am really happy he made it.
I was always a huge Reds fan growing up, and Barry was the best player at his position for some time (from the backside of Ozzies carrer till the emergence of ARod and Jeter). Great hitter and fielder, and a great clubhouse guy (played with the Reds his entire carreer). I was worried that he wouldn't make it due to how the SS position and offensive numbers have changed in the past 10-15 years. Great to see a good guy get in.

I've basically assumed he was as well and the only thing that was going to tilt me is when they put him in as a Dodger.

I just have to wonder about voters that see a list that next year's will include and...only vote like, Biggio in. Then Piazza has to fight some weird uphill battle. I don't know, I'm not sure how the voters will go next year, I just wonder how they will look at a player like him in that era, especially with known PED users surrounding his name on the ballot.

Probably way to much cynicism in that and Jayson Stark voted for both McGwire and Palmiero . Curious as to watch the %'s were.

Mueller knocked in Dave Roberts, leading to the first of Boston's four wins against the Yankees in 2004. Maybe he got some one-time props or something.

Barry larkin in his prime could have effectively hit in any spot in the lineup. speed power clutch hitting. Allstar caliber fielder also. Ozzie Smith took alot of gold gloves away from him. A little known fact while he was a player was a strong union representative as well. After strike ended he threatened retirement if the reds didnt release Rick Reed who was a replacement player

Congrats to Larkin, much deserved.

I don't know if Piazza will get in, but his mullet definitely deserves first-ballot honors.

Don't understand why Bonds' skeptics can't vote him in based on his body of work prior to the PED allegation years. He was the best or at least a top 3 player in baseball every year just about in the 90s.

9 seasons of 4+ WAR for a guy that was pretty injury prone is pretty awesome. I wish i still had my autographed Eric Davis, Chris Sabo, and Barry Larkin poster from when I was a kid.
