It's almost not fair.

How long can Federer keep up this level of tennis is my question. Can he play at a level close to this until he's 31 or 32?

I don't know how long he can maintain it but I know he said he plans to play long enough for his twin girls to see him/acknowledge him raping souls, and they are like 1 year old?

Sampras won his last major at 31, so it has some precedent. Federer is also a player completely without precedent so who knows how long he can go playing well enough to win.

Last edited by snowden; 01-31-2010 at 06:25 AM. Reason: agassi was 33 when he won his last one, won one at 31 as well

If it comes down to it, and I think it will, here are their records in tiebreaks:

Federer: 265-138
Murray: 68-41

Sampras won the US Open in 2002, age 31.

Aggasi won the Australian Open in 2003, age 32.

I really need to make it a goal of mine to see Federer play live before he retires. Maybe try to get to US Open this or next year, or go to one of the Masters series events.

Fed's style is to make his opponents do all the running, and his anticipation is so good that he never has to move all that much. So he can easily play and win into his 30s.

I wouldn't say easily, just more likely.
