Well, Alcaraz could win 7 French Opens and not come close to Nadal.

Not saying he will or won't, but I expect he wins at least 3 there.

The argument over who was the GOAT can probably be debated forever but no one had a more beautiful game to watch than Fed.

I'm shocked he's not playing one more Wimbledon. Was sure that he was going too because his family didn't come in 2021 and his kids are older now. Anyway best wishes Fed. You're no Djoker but second best isn't too bad lol.

It’s a shame that parenthood has caused another player to retire prematurely.

It's funny to watch Federer's recent highlights such as the Wimbledon 5-setter against Djokovic and to see how antiquated his game looks now. Even despite that he was able to compete with one of the 2 fellow GOATs in his prime.

It's interesting how Federer was once the "You can't hit an offensive shot from THERE" guy 15-16 years ago, and how Nadal/Djokovic evolved that idea to the next level, and now they look like they might get lapped by Alcaraz in that sense.

He was basically retired for a while but it’s pretty brutal and annoying that he never got one more shot at Wimbledon and left there.

Guess leaving at the tournament he created is the way to go as well.

GOAT bows out, always will be for me as well. Rafa runs him super close though.

You’re delusional if you think fed is the goat. He’s not even top 2 lol and you look like a fool trying to debate that

Fed is the GOAT, Novak is the best player to ever play the game

It's like in other sports

Jordan is the GOAT, but the real best player ever is Lebron, not close

If a hockey/NFL player become insanely great, Gretzky will still be the GOAT, same with Tom Brady

GOAT title is performance + Aura

GOAT is whatever people on social media want it to be

History shows that people get better at sports and soon enough we will have kids hitting the ball stronger than ever and running all over the place (Alcaraz is kinda that) and I'm sure they will reach a level of tennis higher than fed/nadal/djoko because that's how sport evolves. Actually if you compare some of the 2015-2020 tennis played by Novak, it's so much higher in terms of level of tennis than Fed in 2005-2010 and that's only a 10 years difference

History will remember the big 3 for a long long time though because they happened to be so much above the rest that it got them a lot of success (# slams) and that is always going to be the metric used (nobody wants to argue GOAT over Elo rating). Unlikely we're ever going to have that big of a gap between the best's and the 2nd bests

Very touching and moving. The moment when Fed and Rafa found out Djoker won’t have to miss any more majors due to Covid restrictions.

Phenomenal match, except for the annoying planes and cars, but to be expected in San Diego.

Rather decent QFs: Swiatek v Gauff, Pegula v Keys, Sabalenka v Vekic, Badosa v Collins

Lots of exciting stuff happening right now! Medvedev is back in form, FAA is ****ing killing everyone (he plays Alcaraz in the semis of the Basel 500 tomorrow), even guys like Thiem and Dimitrov are starting to play well again, old man Stan is playing better (although I doubt he'll ever have the fitness level to compete in a major again, he had to retire in the semis of a 250 a few weeks ago iirc).

Australia should be stacked this year. Lots of guys who could potentially win. Novax is only +155 so he's not favored over the field. I don't pay much attention to this normally but I feel like he usually has been, at least when he's been allowed into the country. FAA +3000 seems like good value.

I'm still relatively new to watching Tennis, and saw something pretty insane which seems to happen pretty often from what I read but I was shocked watching it.

Bublik (KAZ) vs Ymer (SWE) in Paris, Bublik lost 6-1 the first set, lost 11/12 service points, intentionally hit the ball into the net multiple times, didn't chase after pretty much anything.

In the second set he had a trainer look at his "ankle" then he magically started trying & won the second set.

What does Tennis do to stop such obvious tanking/not trying?

Just looking at tweets about Bublik in the past day or so and they’re far from complimentary

I could have beat him in the first set(I havent swung a tennis racket in 20 years) he was intentionally losing on purpose, then just used the "ankle" treatment as a bs excuse to start trying in the second set.

Will ATP ban/suspend him or just fall for the BS excuse he was injured the first set?

Would not have predicted Pegula and Gauff to both start 0-2 at the WTA Finals in Texas:

Singles - http://wtafiles.wtatennis.com/pdf/dr...22/808/MDS.pdf

Doubles - http://wtafiles.wtatennis.com/pdf/dr...22/808/MDD.pdf

Jabeur v Pegula tomorrow, the loser likely to be eliminated already.
