Barty with yet another impressive week. Wouldn’t surprise me if she remains #1 for ages.

I really underestimated Barty. I thought for a while that she was lucky to win one major and never would win another one again. Now I'm a big fan of hers. She's really level headed and appears to be a great person.

Zverev is really starting to blossom. He's a real threat to Djokovic at the Open. I hope they don't play prior to the final.

I got grounds passes + Ashe for next Tuesday. This is my first time at the first week at the US Open. Any tips on matches to watch, things to do etc?

Well the draw isn't out yet so you don't know about any of that at this point. Google some info on first timers at the US Open and what to do. I read some real good articles a few years back giving really good advice.

I hope and trust that Samantha Stosur's series of protected ranking entries is about to expire. Her current ranking is 186 but she has a protected ranking of 97. She has lost her most recent 8 matches, her last win was in the 1st round of the 2021 Australian Open against a 203rd ranked Australian wildcard. Prior to that she had lost another 5 matches.

It really grinds my gears when a 37yo with $19.3m in prizemoney is gifted so many direct entries while players half her age with negligible earnings miss out. Supposedly Kim Clijsters is an active player again although she never plays and her ranking is close to #1100. She has received multiple wildcards in the past year including for the 2020 US Open.

Zverev and Novak in the same half. Medvedev and Tsitsipas in the other half.

Vax's draw tougher than I expected. He'll have to beat at least 2 legit ATP level players early. Likely Hurkacz/Berrettini R4 could be good.

Some good first round matchups with Isner-Nakashima, Bautista-Kyrgios, Khachanov-Harris.

For the wimmin also a few good first rounds: Keys-Stephens (2017 final rematch), Giorgi-Halep, Kostyuk-Sakkari.

Murray looking pretty good against Tsitsipas, what an unlucky first round matchup for him

Is there any other player who likes Tsitsipas? He seems to have established himself as the most hated guy on tour, mainly for texting with his dad for 10+ minutes in the bathroom after every set he loses.

Today is the day that Denmark establish itself as the dominant tennis nation for the next 15 years.

GO HOLGER AND CLARA!

Both are playing the #1 seed.

Going to US Open tomorrow. Weather forecast includes flash flood warning, and I'm on the half of the bracket where I barely know anyone. The other male half's first round was better than this lineup. Expecting the worst tennis trip ever.

I'm really enjoying he no lines-people system they've been using this summer. Hawkeye or gtfo, imo

I know it's always French open as worst slam, but a rain delay on an indoor court is really making me reconsider

Bad loss to Sloane Stephens but Coco is 17yo and ranked in the top 20. The next best 17yo is ranked 317th.

Hype about someone so young and ranked so high is well deserved.

I think they should've cancelled the evening session. With the tornado warning in effect from 6pm (or close to it), US Open were somewhat responsible for the spectators' ability to get home safe.

I ended up booking a room near Grand Central for one night after leaving USTA at 9:30. No trains were running, Uber was 4x the regular price and it wasn't safe anyway. Took 5 hours to get home today.

Got to watch Alcaraz v Rinderknech which was a very nice match. My bro thinks Alcaraz will be in top 10 in not too distant future.
