I feel bad for Red Sox fans on the east who now might have to stay up until 2 or 3 if this goes extra innings. MLB scheduling kind of sucks imo.

I see nothing wrong with Francona's pitching decision in this inning. He obviously felt Masterson could go out there and get some outs. He didn't, so he brought in Pap. I don't think Francona was planning on using Pap for 6 outs. He just got to the point where it was necessary.

Of course, one could question using Masterson instead of a non-Pap pitcher, but Francona felt Masterson was the right pitcher for the 8th.
