It's just so crazy. It's simple math:

1.437 runs with em on 1st and 2nd 0 outs
1.376 runs with em on 2nd and 3rd 1 out

This isn't complex game management stuff. This isn't bickering over optimal lineup construction which has minimal effects over the course of the season. It's not asking them to go against the grain and pitch closers in high leverage spots in the 7th if required.

It's just "this is worth more runs than that, so do this and not that". And so many of them fail it

I think what kills me about it this time is he's been really good about Miller usage last year. I just expect better from someone that I was happy to see doing things "correctly" last year during crunch time
