Hansbrough has played 6 games in the NCAA tournament. Half of them he had 5 free throw attempts or fewer.

In 24 conference games started over this year and last, he's had 5 or fewer just twice.

There's no doubt that he is able to make a bunch of tough shots and draws contact, but to say the ACC refs don't give him a bit of favoritism is just wrong.

He was wearing a mask in many of these games and wasn't his usual beastly self in the paint as a result.

I really don't think the "live by the three, die by the three" mantra applies to this Duke team as much as past ones. Sure, a completely abysmal night from three could really put them on the ropes against other elite teams, but I'd like to believe they do enough other things well (defend, turn teams over, get to the line) that they could still compete under such circumstances. Their more likely downfall IMO could be free throws considering the 2 who take the most, Hendo and Nelson, are the worst.

wake ran two guys right out of bounds and no calls, not to mention multiple reaches, grabs, etc. refs went a bit overboard in making up for the bad intentional foul call on mcfarland.

Demon, your guys played very, very well. Duke also played poorly. But that doesn't change the fact that the officiating was incredibly one-sided. The play where Henderson was run out of bounds on the baseline was the worst no calls of the season.

this doesn't mean duke doesn't live and die by the three though-- ~40% of their fgas are 3's.

in fact i feel like the cliche may apply more to this duke team b/c it doesn't have a post presence (brand, boozer, shelden williams etc) to provide offensive balance.

Well, that's awesome. GT/UVa game RAINED OUT. The roof of Alexander Memorial was leaking, making it too slippery on the court.

The ACC should make GT travel up to UVa for the make-up date.

Except Causey is playing and they still can't make layups or play defense.

Awesome play by Smith though pushing some idiot out of the way so he could push the guy going up for a layup.

And of course they are letting dukes bigs play just a little bit more as Tech is yet to attempt a free throw. Standard cameron indoor treatment. Dont even bother to come out of the lockerroom after halftime.
