All right per request I'll be trying out a goalkeeper ranking. Maybe a top 30.
Plan is to do it later tonight and I have just finished shortlisting candidates and it's not a pretty picture where outside the more obvious names it's full of people I'm not that confident in just how good or bad they really are. I'm also pretty sure I've left some worthy ones out.
So I'm posting
the shortlist just in case someone see someone obvious missing (with a strong possibility it being someone from La Liga) or even better, some brave soul who also feels like having a go at a list (whatever number) themselves. That would be sweet.
Mind you that a few names on here I don't really have in serious contention, not least because I'm just too unsure about their level (so any insight is welcome), but where I suspect there is some possibility that they've been really good:
Thibaut Courtois - Atletico Madrid
Marc-André ter Stegen - Gladbach
Stipe Pletikosa - Croatia - is he still good?
Gianluigi Buffon - Juventus
Kevin Trapp - Frankfurt
Maarten Stekelenburg - Roma
Salvatore Sirigu - PSG
Manuel Neuer - Bayern München
Nikolay Mihaylov - Bulgaria and Twente - I'd will be interested in any views on him
Anders Lindegaard - Manchester United
Petr Cech - Chelsea
Joe Hart - Manchester City
Michel Vorm - Swansea and actually his reserve Tremmel right now is looking surprisingly good
Ron-Robert Zieler - Hannover 96
René Adler -Hamburg
Diego Benaglio - Wolfsburg
Brad Guzan - Aston Villa and will be interested in opinions on him
Federico Marchetti - Lazio
Christian Abbiati - Milan veteran
Adrián - Betis

Roman Weidenfeller - Dortmund
Volkan Demirel - Turkish number one
Samir Handanović - Slovenia now for Inter
Igor Akinfeev - Russia
Asmir Begović - Stoke
Julio Cesar - QPR and is he still in the Brazil picture?
Przemysław Tytoń - PSV and maybe Poland number 1. I'm very interested in opinions on him
Szczęsny - Arsenal

Iker Casillas - Real Madrid
VIctor Valdes - Barcelona
David de Gea - Manchester United
Pepe Reina - Liverpool
Steve Mandanda - Marseille
Mickaël Landreau - Lille
