#61: Lampard lol

#31: Ozil - should be higher
#25: Schwini should be higher

#11: Bale LOOOOL

#9: Pirlo I don't think he should be that high.

#10/#8: Aguero shouldn't be higher than Rooney

Like the top 6 tbh, might have had Xavi higher though.
Bale above Zlatan is so, so, so ridiculous. It's not an awful list, but the likes of Lampard, Cole, Sneijder, Gerrard resting on past performances as I don't know if any of them even belong on the list.

Lewandoski obviously too high, same with Higuan.

I guess there's an argument to be made for Bale being the 5th best EPL player behind rooney/rvp/aguero/yaya.

Hmmm, who deserves to be on the list more then Torres?
Baines, Ben Arfa, Wilshere, Callejon, El Sharawry, Eto'o, Danny, Lavezzi, Matuidi, Nene, Vidal, Willian, Srna, Mkhitaryan, Gaitan are some fringe 100 candidates definitely more deserving.

I can't seem to help thinking that Higuan would rack in the goals if he played for eg. ManU.

I like Higuan, I'd bite my hand off to get him rather then the likes of the players we're linked with right now (Huntelaar/Adrian Lopez/Henry). Just see him more around ~40 overall then ~20.

thanks for the interest!

Yes I'm starting to feel the urge again and will probably begin making the list/overhaul in moments of time after Christmas and definitely have it done in January.

Hopefully somehow before then I'll have done plenty more player-profiles (which content now can't help moving into current season-territory anyway) on the blog.

For people interested here are some of the (updated) newer ones:

Thomas Müller
Arda Turan
Gareth Bale
Samir Nasri
Lucho Gonzalez
Santi Cazorla
Juan Manuel Vargas
Tomáš Rosický
Raul Garcia

All right per request I'll be trying out a goalkeeper ranking. Maybe a top 30.

Plan is to do it later tonight and I have just finished shortlisting candidates and it's not a pretty picture where outside the more obvious names it's full of people I'm not that confident in just how good or bad they really are. I'm also pretty sure I've left some worthy ones out.

So I'm posting the shortlist just in case someone see someone obvious missing (with a strong possibility it being someone from La Liga) or even better, some brave soul who also feels like having a go at a list (whatever number) themselves. That would be sweet.

Mind you that a few names on here I don't really have in serious contention, not least because I'm just too unsure about their level (so any insight is welcome), but where I suspect there is some possibility that they've been really good:

Thibaut Courtois - Atletico Madrid
Marc-André ter Stegen - Gladbach
Stipe Pletikosa - Croatia - is he still good?
Gianluigi Buffon - Juventus
Kevin Trapp - Frankfurt
Maarten Stekelenburg - Roma
Salvatore Sirigu - PSG
Manuel Neuer - Bayern München
Nikolay Mihaylov - Bulgaria and Twente - I'd will be interested in any views on him
Anders Lindegaard - Manchester United
Petr Cech - Chelsea
Joe Hart - Manchester City

Michel Vorm - Swansea and actually his reserve Tremmel right now is looking surprisingly good

Ron-Robert Zieler - Hannover 96
René Adler -Hamburg
Diego Benaglio - Wolfsburg
Brad Guzan - Aston Villa and will be interested in opinions on him
Federico Marchetti - Lazio
Christian Abbiati - Milan veteran
Adrián - Betis
Wilfredo Caballero - Malaga
Roman Weidenfeller - Dortmund
Volkan Demirel - Turkish number one
Samir Handanović - Slovenia now for Inter
Igor Akinfeev - Russia
Asmir Begović - Stoke
Julio Cesar - QPR and is he still in the Brazil picture?

Przemysław Tytoń - PSV and maybe Poland number 1. I'm very interested in opinions on him

Szczęsny - Arsenal
Hugo Lloris - Tottenham
Iker Casillas - Real Madrid
VIctor Valdes - Barcelona
David de Gea - Manchester United
Pepe Reina - Liverpool
Steve Mandanda - Marseille
Mickaël Landreau - Lille
Cédric Carrasso - Bordeaux
Stéphane Ruffier - St. Etienne
Brad Friedel - USA vet
Eiji Kawashima - Japan number one I just don't remember him
Fernando Muslera - Uruguay and Galatasaray
Guastavo Munúa - Levante
Tim Howard - Everton and USA
Gorka Iraizoz - Athletic Bilbao
Sergio Romero - Argentina vet - Sampdoria
Diego Alves - Valencia and early Brazil number one?
Fraser Forster - Celtic hero
Mariano Andujar - Catania and Argentina contender
Claudio Bravo -Chile views plz?

Andreas Palop - Sevilla legend who has ousted Villarreal legend Lopez for the Sevilla starting job

Andreas Isaksson - Swedish veteran
Tim Krul - Newcastle
Rafael Cabral - Brazil (maybe a contender for their NT spot???)
Roberto Jimenez Gago - Zaragoza

Spoiler:
just do it someone

Thanks, forgot that one. Also forgot Joe Hart of all people haha...

I've put quite a few German goalkeepers on there, do you think the new young Leverkusen keeper belong with them, Leno?

Yeah I think Leno should be on the shortlist, Giefer too based on performance this season. Ter Stegen is actually going through a 2nd season slump I think, as is Zieler.

I hate goalkeepers. I like it better with them off the list. I wish everyone could just be issued the same keeperbot2000 and every team would play 10 men + the bot.

Ok, on popular demand, one more name.
Ibrahimovic. Everybody saw his 'goal of the century'.

Story of how he spew out his gum, held it up a little while with his feet, shot it up in the air and got it back in his mouth..

Johan Cruijf said about him: 'He's very good for a bad player, but bad for a good player'. You'll have to learn Cruijfism.

He thought this was his finest moment

I love keepers. One of the most important players in the team.
And underrated..
Ofcouse everybody loves the technical brilliant mid/forward more.

If you put in Diego Alves, you most certainly have to put Vicente Guaita in!

The game would be *almost* as brilliant without keepers but with some sort of generic version as daca suggests. The same isn't remotely close to being said about "technical brilliant mid/forward".

There's a reason no one wants to be keepers in a random pub game.

That was your 1000th post? What a waist.
I used to be a keeper, brilliant penaltystopper. In little leagues:-)
Too bad I had to be the full back, because surrounded by idiots.
If there were more balls in football I often would've kicked my keeper his.
