I dont like the Diggs deal for either team

For the Bills because their WRs suck now and for Houston because the move just seemed unnecessary. Nico and Dell are fine 1 and 2s and they should be playing long game with Stroud.

Diggs wasn't even good last year, not sure why Houston wanted him so badly. A 2nd is good compensation.

It's a second in 2025 which is probably going to be a pretty low and also gave up a 6th rounder this year and 5th rounder last year. So basically the equivalent to a mid 3rd round pick in 2024?

Bills were 5-5 with "good" Diggs and 6-1 with "bad" Diggs last season and were already projected in a lot of mocks to pick a WR in round 1 this year. They obviously just wanted to be done with him.

Re Stroud, Texans are obviously playing the long game with him but also want to maximize his low cap hit years. 2024 cap hit for Stroud and Diggs together is still lower than Josh Allen.

Since Houston has the cap space they basically give up that pick for a one year rental for Diggs. With the added option to not cut him after the season if he's performing well enough.

On a totally unrelated note, we'll have to wait at least 6 more days for SRM to continue his highly anticipated post wedding blog.

Except posting in politics in the first place is never a pro move.

Lions match the 49ers offer to their TE2, nice pay bump for him. He’s a fine player and it’s not a huge number (3/12, $6mm guaranteed) but I’m still a little surprised they did when they were only going to pay him $3mm non-guaranteed before the offer sheet.

I wasn't, thanks for clarifying that. So the equivalent to a high 3rd rounder this year?

No clue to be honest. I don't know how picks compare from year to year.

ESPN reports that the Texans removed the final 3 years from his contract and moved the last 3.5mil guaranteed after this season to 2024. So he'll be a free agent next year.

Should be painfully obivous diggs needed to go. I stunk up a gameday thread you guys had with my dissapointment. I think most bills fans should see it, but people who had money on that last playoff game sure as hell saw it. With enough money on a game you can see things down to the atoms. Josh Allen was doing everything, throwin bullets, running around. He had nothing to throw to it was awful. If any other "play makers" on team had a contract like Diggs, trust me they would be gone too. That group would have a hard time making a college team. Garbage.

My wounds were fresh two days later when the GM came out and said Diggs was a number 1 and he was staying. I think I bitched again in the forum heh,, think I said bills gm was a flat out tard. But that slick GM was in politician mode, cause the media was prolly a little fiesty, that game was that bad and they tried for answers. I do think Josh played great and shoulda beat the chiefs. But hey I saw opening week last year. He gifted the jets a win in a primetime game with just dumb play after dumb play. But he was real good down the strech of last year and in the big game. It was bad. Time to nuke. They have to draft a real number one and some help, no way around it. No other choice. As a jets fan I wish them 0 luck.

They shoulda beat cheifs easy, instead lost a nail biter with stupid kicking drama. Disaster.

Sorry for the wall of text, it still hurts man

Spread was BUF -2.5 and Mahomes record in non-OT AFC playoff games is 11-0. I doubt many people seriously thought Buffalo should win that game "easy".

there's nothing incorrect about all of that but he must have also been truly toxic around the club. Because they have basically nothing at receiver now and yet they are still effectively paying for Diggs, who was still their best receiver, to be on their roster next year, even though he's not.

they now have the worst receiver room in the League and very little resources to improve it. Yes, they can draft a receiver in rd 1 and/or 2, but the average 1st/2nd rd WR stats are very poor in their rookie year...it's something like 450 yards. Which means that for every Chase or Jefferson there's 3 guys catching 28 balls for 350 yards

this is going to be a clean out year for the Bills. White, Morse, Diggs...a few others all gone. It wouldn't surprise me if they cut Von Miller as well, which would create another $23m of dead cap charge. It's either that or eat $15m dead cap next offseason.

the Bills are already at $54m dead cap in 2024. old Brandon Beane really has doled out some horrific contracts

I still refuse the Mahomes hype. Thier D was amazing, but they shoulda lost to bills and Det woulda beat them easy, but that is just in my mind. They won it all I know I know.

Kermitt did not look so special to me, he needs to respect the Walrus King

Just thought of somethin, no action was taken against the tush push. With kelce gone maybe it's over? He was really good at it, somehow he got two inches off the ground and still had tracktion to fire straight ahead. Dunno if I buy Hurts squat powers being behind the success, but maybe. There was a bunch of complaining last year. I thought maybe no more pushing other players or something.. But I've heard nothing.

Did you let him know that hanging out in politics might be one of his bigger recent non-wedding/marriage mistakes?
